So I got an email early this week saying i have a lady names Jennifer Castro.  I really hope she is good, so far she hasnt returned any of my emails I think Ive sent her two. Deyanira was really good at answering emails so im trying to be patient with the new girl but If it takes too long for her relpy then I might get frustrated. I know they are really busy there so I will give it a bit.

Regarding the appetizers I have the gold package and I get to pick 3 cold apps and 1 hot.

so far the only one that iM 100 % sure im picking is the assorted sushi.

I need help from you ladies to pck two more cold and one hot.

DRBride - I had Carolina and she was pretty good.  A few things amiss at the reception but nothing I really cared about anyway.  Two tables were switched (I had picture frames for the table designations) which was fine and the place card holder was supposed to have sand on it and it did not (again, I didn't care).  I was pretty organized, especially with the 36 sand buckets we brought down as our OOT bags, which she loved -- so do whatever you can to try to make her job a little easier because there are a ton of weddings she needs to keep track of on a daily basis.  She was generally quick to respond to e-mails.  On the wedding day, she found me at the salon getting my hair done to let me know that my mom did not drop off the reception items yet (my mom was a mom-zilla that day) and let me know that she needed the items within an hour or two to start setting up.  She asked me a few times during the reception if it was everything I imagined and if I was having fun and she definitely kept my champagne glass full!!!

Not sure why this posted incorrectly before -- but we had meatballs which were gone by the time we got to the reception and the guests asked Carolina for more but she did not have any (which, I guess looking back, was kind of annoying since we paid per person instead of, say 5 lbs of meatballs).  Buffet should be unlimited, right?  Anyway, no biggie b/c the reception started 10 minutes after guests asked for more.

We also had crab canape, mozzarella canape, and fruit/melon balls (not sure of the name).  I'd say the least picked at were the melon balls.

I do have a question for the brides that have gotten married already. If you brought your own centerpieces (like vases) but no flowers, did they still charge you $100 per centerpiece for just the flowers? It seems so pricey $100 per centerpiece....But then again, i don't know what centerpieces cost, so can't really say that's pricey.

I was looking to have a submerged flower centerpiece, but wanted to use 3 different size vases per table, so not sure if the $100 would cover that.....

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks again ladies for all your help!

Hi Erika,

If you have the package that includes the photographer, then yes, those 50 are free, but anything more than 50 you pay a ton of money for.... Hence why i am only using the photographer for the 50 pictures and then I have hired a photographer for everything else.

I have tasted the assorted sushi and it was OK.  Me and my FI did a tasting there when we were planning our wedding and we tasted the smoked salmon canape and we were surprised as to how good it was.  We did taste the spring rolls, which were good.  The chicken taquitos were surprisingly not great.  It had chicken bones in it which were a drag.  The meatballs in pomodoro sauce was good also.

hope this helps.....

I think I am going to bring some freeze dried flowers that can be submersed in water for my centerpieces.  I plan to bring the vases and flowers down with me.  you can find them at save-on-crafts.com.  They have an assortment of colors and different types of flowers also.  I have been using inspiration from Kio Kreations (kiokreations.com) cuz this person uses some of her tools from the save on crafts site.  Hope this is helpful.

Hey I was thinking about bringing down some vases and freeze dried flowers from save-on-crafts.com.  They have an assortment of colors and flowers that can be mailed to you.  And it can be submerged in water.  I also use inspiration from kio kreations (kiokreations.com).  She uses some of the items from save on crafts. com.  Hope this helps.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
