I still haven't heard back from the resort and feel like literally pulling my hair out! I just better not have any issues once I get there, because they have my deposit and I have the confirmation that they sent me as well as my credit card statement showing they took my money. They better not mess anything up or I swear to God, I will *bleep* *bleep* *bleep*, and that is not a good thing. LOL

Staying prayed up that everything will fall in place. By the way, we picked up our marriage license yesterday!!! Yay, plan on getting married on the 25th!!!

No... no response yet. My FH sent the initial e-mail saying.. what the heck?... on Thursday night. He sent a follow-up e-mail on Tuesday morning.

Oh well, we shall see. I'll update you guys when/if we ever get a response.

I just got an email from Carolina confirming my wedding date, ceremony time/location, dinner location as well. She told me that we have four hours including cocktail reception and dinner, as well as that all events must end by 11PM. We have our ceremony at 3PM in the Gazebo. Followed by the cocktail reception/dinner at the Bordeaux terrace. We might start a bit earlier (at 5PM) and add two extra hours even if we have to pay extra so we have more time for dancing and partying! lol

Update on the situation... e-mail from Carolina:

"Dear Thomas:

I really understand your point and we are checking options and locations where we can accommodate your group. I will contact you with a final decision as soon as possible.

Once again, please receive our deepest apologies for the inconvenience this misunderstanding may cause to you.

Regards!"

I hope they come up with a viable option. I bet they would hate to see 100-115 people walk away from the resort. I'll update everyone when we hear from her on the final decision.

Hey lrdavis! Is the "El Patio" terrace the same as the Himitsu terrace? I was going to consider getting the chinese lanterns to hang, but when i visited, i forgot to ask if it's even possible to hang since there is no ceiling and i was lookint to hang across from the hallway where the undercover part is to the other end, where the balcony is.... Is this possible?

Hi there!

The El Patio is not the same as the Himitsu terrace. These two are two different terraces. Pics below:

I also believe that you can hang paper lanters at El Patio and Bordeaux Terrace.

Thank you Eliana! Finally, I can picture the difference! I was really hoping that something can be done to the Himitsu terrace reagrding the chinese lanterns....i guess not! =(

I'm just concerned that it will be too dark on the Himitsu terrace during the reception.... we'll see. Maybe DJ Mannia will have additional lights we could use that aren't too tacky!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
