Do we ever have fun Toya! Except look out when one of us gets a questionable email from a WC, we all go nuts! hahah cause we have eachothers back :)

Erin, you said your legal date is April 1st, right? And no, you are not crazy about things adding up! I am going to knock off a bunch of wedding things this weekend since I looked at what's left to do and went "what?!!?!" haha

Anyone doing an AHR? I am starting the invitations but am at a loss for the wording. I saw some examples on the AHR part of the forum but rhymes really aren't my thing (not those, anyway...) ideas?

As well, for those who did Save-the-dates, are you doing some type of formal invitation to the DPC wedding? Or just doing a pre-travel brochure? Or both?

Help ladies! hahaha

Tash, sent you a message back...

We never did have an official invitation to the wedding b/c we booked so fast there was really no point..

We are just starting to decide details (such as dates) for our AHR too.. I love the idea that you are going to wear a white cocktail dress... might copy you on that..

I think we're planning a BBQ style event, but can't decide (on anything)! this totally sucks as we have people coming in from out of town and need to give them enough time to book flights, etc... I thought the planning was going to end after the wedding!!

nat, we actually just ordered our AHR invites the other day. the wording was the HARDEST part because i'm not a cheesey person typically. we made ours on zazzle (great prices) and on the front it says "eat, drink and be married" really big and on the back it says "erin and jeremy will be married on april 28th, 2010 in punta cana, dominican republic. come join us on saturday june 5th for the real celebration!"

it's in all different bright colors (i'll take pics when we get them) and then we made RSVP postcards in vistaprint that coordinate with our information booklet (and the same "eat, drink and be married" saying.

as for the invites, i have no idea, but i would maybe suggest just sending pre-trip info to the people who have booked from the STD (if it had booking info on it that is). i have never seen the point in sending our formal invites to people you already know are coming!

tam, the planning definitely doesn't end! i just call our AHR "wedding phase 4"!

ohh nat, forgot to answer your question. our legal date is actually april 20th. J's birthday is april 1st and we wanted it to be on a tuesday so we could make sure J's daughter could come with us. a small consolation in case she can't come to the wedding.

Welcome Allie!

Nat- I did save-the-date magnets in november and Im just now working on my invites which I want to send out in about 2 months (i know, its early, but i dont care lol). they are more formal but im staying within the "destination theme". Their boxed with shells and raffia ect.

Then, about a month before the wedding, everyone should be booked, I'm sending out the luggage tags w/ the travel information.

erin- your AHR invites sound soo cute! Can't wait to see them! when are you sending those out?

Lately, I've been ADDICTED to etsy! I found Larimar jewelry on there that I think I want to get for my bridesmaids as a gift. If you don't know what larimar is, its a really pretty blue stone that is pretty much only found in the DR(i think). It would easily go with my BM dresses as well since my color are blue & yellow. Just a shout out for anyone whos looking for some unique gift ideas ;-)

Hey Ashley!

Great job and thanks for compiling all the questions! I'm going to see if I have a few of my own that are different from those listed. friday.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
