We are just going with the free wedding package so that leaves alot for the imagination...

I am completely stressed out and have not recieved replies in over a month!!! This is after I had at least 10 problems with the wedding coordinator herself.

First she told me that i couldn't have a legal mearriage (which really sucks) because that is what we wanted. Then I have like 3 or 4 coordinators emailing me various things like:

1. You do not even have a wedding booked at our resort smile43.gif
2. Someone else has taken your time slot for the wedding
3. I am your coordinator please send the money for the package you want (after i already sent money and already had a coordinator
4. We have no record that you are even booked with our resort to stay.

I seriously should not be this stressed but their wedding department is giving me no other options. They are honestly the hardest people to get a hold of and when you do they tell you conflicting information....I don't know what to do I seriously just want to cry sad.gif shitfan.gif

Hi sweetie, first of all take a big breath and pour yourself a glass of wine. 3 weeks is still enough time to fix everything no matter how confusing the situation appears right now. It is absolutely normal to feel stressed and emotional so close to the wedding and with so many things up the air. My advice would be:

1.Find out who the manager is for the WC's, its probably the groups and events manager for the resort (call the reception of the hotel and ask for that person).

2. Very calmly with all the strength you can compose, explain to this person your issues, point by point (have them written down so you dont go off on a tangent). Please trust me, the calmer you are the more they will help you.

3. Find out what is and isnt booked and write down what she tells you is not booked. Then send an email immediatly after asking her to confirm ASAP the unbooked items.

4. If you really dont have a judge for the day you can consider the following option: Sign the legal papers with the judge in the morning (Quietly, no one has to know) and then in front of friends and family hold a symbolic ceremony, the retired judge is available for symbolic weddings and your guests wont know you've already signed the papers.

Your wedding will be fabulous, just take a deep breath and start managing the resort!!

I also had a hard time confirming dates with the coordinator at Dreams...I also felt stressed and confused! So I decided to buy a couple calling cards and tried to call them every hour or so....I spoke with the hotel reception and told them that it was urgent and that I had to speak to a wedding coordintor. I actually got one of the coordinators on the phone and was able to confirm the date...menus and reception locations were sent to me with a confirmation email for the symbolic ceremony. I beleive you do all the other stuff when you arrive ... they are pretty busy with weddings all day so thats why they are so hard to get a hold of. If you go to the dreams website sign up on the forum there are a couple people that can help you connect with someone if you still feel stressed!

Annidas is right about the planning. We did not have anything planned aside from our date and time before we arrived. We had gone over the menu selections on our own and figured out what we wanted but that was about it! Once you get there you meet with the coordinator and you pick your flowers, wedding cake, reception location (which really depends on the size of your group) and all the other elements you want in your package. Nothing has to be done prior to your arrival unless there is something out of the ordinary that you want. The coordinators spend all day working on the weddings which is why it usually takes awhile to hear back from them. But I promise you, once you get there the stress will go away. They handle everything and they do a good job. Just go down there with an idea of what you want and they will take care of the rest.

On the dreams forum there is a woman baltobabe who has helped me contact people at the resort. She is really wonderful and always willing to help!

Oh no!!! I am so sorry that you are having so many problems...

The latest wedding coordinator (my 4th) just contacted me back after I have been emailing them for 2 months for my August wedding. She is also contradicting what the other WC's promised to me; so I am just sending her the emails that I have confirming certain details that she is disputing.

From everything I have heard - they take care of everything when you get there and meet with them. So, please try not to stress! I am a planner; so it's been hard for me not to have all my details nailed down months in advance - but I guess I have to learn to work on island time and just have faith LOL.

If they still aren't getting back to you and you are truly concerned; on the Dreams forums there is a woman named Baltobabe (I think others have mentioned her on here) - contact her and she will help you get everything and anything straightened out. She is amazing.

Good luck!!!! If I can help at all; please let me know. They did send me a picture of the cake that comes complimentary with my package; so if you want to see that - just let me know!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
