Hey ladies!

Hope all is well. I see many of you are interested in La Barcaza, and that looks sooo cool! I was in touch with Flori, who sounds super to work with, and very accomodating! I bet your guests will LOVE a cruise reception! We want to have our reception on the actual resort, but we considered doing the boat for our rehearsal/welcome party/dinner. BUT, our guests fly in late Saturday and we're getting married the Monday, so I don't want to usurp half their first day with the boat. So we've opted to just do a 1 hour cocktail and apptizer hour on the resort on Sunday, then everyone can get to know each other.

nsbride, a Canada Day wedding would be unbelievable! YAY Canada!!!!

How many of you are LOVING Ebay for wedding planning? So far I've ordered our plastic vases and pink jewels for centrepieces, some tiny starfish, 2000 white rose petals, and I've found someone to do my flowers through there! Not sure how I'm going to get them down there, but her stuff is AMAZING, and her prices are unreal. For a bridal bouquet, MOH bouquet, 4 bridesmaid bouquets, groom's boutonniere, 4 other boutonnieres, and 2 corsages, I was quoted $230. It's awesome!!!!

I'm going with La Barcaza now anyway, cause its a price under contract and can't change!!
Oh, Ok, I thought I was just an idiot who couldn't find them.... happy to know I'm smarter than I thought!!

I just had a big conversation with gerry about the possibility of having the reception on the boat and he gets motion sickness too much to chance trying it... so we're are sticking with the resort even though it bothers me immensely (sp?) that this has happened with the pricing.. why don't they have the 2010 pricing available in 2009? 2011 in 2010 etc? Would solve a lot of anger issues with us if they did...hope that made sense...

Crossing my fingers! Actually, a July 1st wedding would be cool for us... CANADA DAY!
Hey Nat,
That would be cool to have it on July 1, then it's always a party on your anniversary!
I'm curious whether the WCs have said anything to you guys about why you changed venues for your receptions??

If they did, I hope your responses were because they are trying to bleed us dry..

I think that yeah you are supposed to buy his ring, but I'm not sure! I'm going to buy my FI's ring for sure!
Hmmm. I didn't know they don't celebrate Can. day... I guess that goes with them wanting to separate though doesn't it?? wink.gif

toya, thanks for sending those menu prices. it seems a lot higher than what i thought it was before.

as for your FI's ring... i'm very anti-"supposed to"... we are just kind of making up things as we go along. J sacrificed his entire tax return and then some for my e-ring, so i made a deal that he could get his bands and i'd get my ring (we have shared accounts and a credit card so it really doesn't mean much). i don't think it really matters.. whatever you guys decide to do will be perfect.

yeah Tam its the weirdest thing. Everyone moves in Quebec on July 1st if you are renting pretty much, so thats all you see. I mean TECHNICALLY they do host Canada Day celebrations, but its not a very popular event outside of Montreal. Montreal has a lot of students and people from outside Quebec, so I find it a little better there. But on July 1st in Quebec City I hardly remembered it was Canada Day!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
