Hey Lil,

Your pictures are wonderful - thanks for sharing! I really liked your bridesmaid dresses, the blue was beautiful and the style was very flaterring. Where did you end up getting them from?

Thanks,

Jenn

Jenn,

They were from Victoria's Secret.  They are currently $68 but I got them on sale for $59 plus a 20% off online promo code since I spent over $300 (ordered 6 BM dresses) -- the color is beach blue.  Can't beat $50 for BM dresses.  I am totally anti-"any-dress-that-swooshes-when-you-walk" so I went to V.S. and one busty BM picked the dress out and I said okay!

Hi Jenny,

I would assume from the posts over the last year that most of them are not using the resort photographer. The reason for me was that they are charging a ridiculous price. They don't give you all the pictures that they take until you pay for each of them. Unlike Michael, it's a flat rate and he takes a ton of pictures and they are yours to keep. Also, the resort photographer charges per hour and also their videography is expensive. So after doing the math, we ended up getting a much better deal with Michael. Since we have a wedding package and get a photographer in the package, we will be using the resort photographer for free for our ceremony, so at that time we will have two photographers.

Hope this helps.

Ska2

I used the resort photographer. I have all my professional pictures posted on facebook if you want to friend request me to look at them (Jackie Truesdell). I dont know how to put them on here. We loved our pictures.

I had the Ultimate Wedding Package which included 50 photos of the ceremony. We added on the Bronze Package which was $500 in order to have posed pictures after the ceremony. We ended up paying $720 total to have all 100 pictures printed and put on a cd. Probably not the cheapest option but I was all about just dealing with the resort as our 1 vendor because that was easiest for my parents who were paying for it all.

I am planning my wedding for June 4th 2011 and I have the Hit for my reception site.  I was wondering if anyone has used the paper lanterns to decorate the site?  Can you post some pics for me?  U can email me at farlem311@yahoo.com.  I am curious as to how to hang the lanterns.  I am also concerned about lighting.  If it gets dark, will there be ample lighting?

I also wanted to express my gratitude for all the information you ladies have provided.  I learned so much from all of you.  I feel so lucky to have stumbled upon this forum.

Farlem,

My reception was on Himitsu as well.  I do not know if there is a place for paper lanterns above the guests since it's a terrace but maybe hanging from the pillars?  Paper lanterns are great at Portofino (FKA Bordeaux) though.  Our cocktail hour started at 6pm with the reception at 7pm.  We closed up shop a little after 11pm and there were no lighting issues.  Actually, I think the lighting was perfect -- enough light for buffet, bar, DJ and bathroom but the dance floor and tables were perfect!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
