Hi Eliana!

We were considering doing the whole thing (ceremony and reception) on the beach but have since changed our minds about both! I was getting nervous that we'd have too many nosey and/or naked unwanted people at our beach ceremony, so we are trying to get the gazebo instead. I LOVED it when I saw it in the pictures initially but told myself we were getting married on the beach. The other thing we were talking about was how the point of the beach wedding/reception was to near sand and water, but we didn't want to chance a windy day and have sand in our food. Also, once the sun goes down, you can't see the water anyway...

I went to a wedding at Secrets Capri and the bride had her ceremony and reception on the beach. It was fun!! But there were definitely some drawbacks. People who are drinking had a hard time walking and balancing in the sand, things were lost in the sand (like the grooms wedding band! Long story...), and I think it didn't necessarily ADD anything to the wedding. It would have been just as fun and beautiful wherever it was. The sand only made it slightly annoying...

Just my two cents on what I've experienced!

eliana, i've heard a lot of people say that it gets pretty breezey/chilly on the beach once the sun goes down. we're doing our ceremony there and have heard that there really aren't privacy issues and the people nearby don't bother anyone, but for the reception i'm not sure. honestly, i don't think i've heard of anyone in the last year who's had their reception on the beach. you could be the first BDW girl to do it :)

just got another response from deyanira and she upped the huppah price on me! i was quoted $150 before without any flowers or extra decorations besides the fabric and this time she said $175. i emailed her back to double check so i'll let everyone (nat!) know.

fastest deyanira response on record! just got 2 emails within about 15 minutes... i sent her the email i had saying that the flower-less huppah was $150 and she said that rate was good. also goes to show that i think they really do prioritize email communication based on the proximity of your wedding date. trust me, i was there before. i booked this time last year and was desperate for any response!

nat, i don't know if you have something from her saying that price, but make sure you print it and bring it with you. good thing to know they'll honor the prices!

I have a question for everyone in regards to the photographs that are included in the Dreams Ultimate package. The description of the package states that 50 photos and a DVD of the ceremony are inlcuded. When I asked the WC about this she stated that the photos are only during the ceremony itself and that photos before or after would be extra and she sent me the information on the three photography packages. This seems weird to me.....50 photos of a 10 minute ceremonyhuh.gif? Then the Bronze photography package includes ceremony photos and a half hour photo session with 50 pictures. Isn't this a little redundant if we are already paying for photos in the wedding package? I am totally confused..... can anyone help me?

Hey Jaime,

I agree about it being redundant. I asked Deyanira and she told me the same thing, that the pics where just of the ceremony. You're supposed to have time to meet with the photog after you meet with the WC so I'm going to ask him and double check what she is saying is correct.

If this is the case, I'll end up purchasing the additional package (don't remember which one but it's the $2000 one) so I can have pictures of me getting ready and the reception.

Let me know if anyone has heard any other information. I'd be interested to hear how many stories are going around.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
