OHHH Ok well that makes sense! That is something I might take advantage of, I haven't decided yet!

Who is doing a welcome dinner or a rehearsal dinner? We are thinking of doing one of these, but informal... meaning at the buffet AKA free hehe

If I do a rehersal/welcome dinner, it will most likely be at the bar or the buffet (read: for free; you and I think alike, Nat! hehe!) I was also thinking if I did OOT bags, I would hand them out then (again, read 'free'). Geez, I sound horrendously cheap...but I think it will have a nice unifying effect if they are handed out at that point and it is a nice way to just formally say thanks to everyone and make sure we all get in touch incase we don't get to with the craziness of the wedding.

you are too cute Nat!

We are also opting for the free rehersal dinner.. just the bridal party with nothing too formal but just to go over everything and have lots of drinks..

I know it would be really nice to hand the OOT bags once we get there, but I have to be honest/selfish when I say that I am going to hand out my bags before we go... I just dont have enough room to bring all that stuff down with me along with the centrepiece stuff and everything else...
So I guess I am being cheap in two ways! Free to hand them out here and less in suitcase weight fees.

Yeah I hear ya Ash, I wish I could hand them out beforehand! But we are all flying out of Toronto as a gateway, with everyone feeding in from other airports (Montreal, Halifax, Edmonton, and others)

I think maybe I will do like you girls, hand them out at the welcome dinner. Since its free, who cares if we do both, right? Hehe Have you all thought about an activity for the groom and groomsmen in the morning on the day of the wedding? We have been batting around a few ideas of excursions that we know of: zipline, golf, and my favorite: its called Bavaro splash, and its 2-person speedboats! The guys would rive the boats themselves, then stop somewhere for snorkeling and then come back. Its a 3 hour trip I believe, and would be a good way to distract the boys :) hehe

"Meet-N-Greet" at the lounge or buffet like you lol.. and yes I love the AKA FREEEEEEE lol.... thats the best part

I wish I could do my OOT bags for everyone, I was soo looking forward to that but theres no way I can do that now without it costing alot of money..... soooo I am going to take the advice you all gave me and do a travel mug or embroided towel or just 1 small item for each guest and then I will do special bags for my bridal party which I will hand out at the welcome/rehersal dinner. I think its more personal if I hand them out then have them delivered to the room.

if it's selfish to hand out the bags beforehand, then i am 100% selfish! i'm definitely doing this! that way our guests have a built-in carry on too!!

i definitely want to get everyone together the night before (obviously with a free meal!!) to organize and go over the schedule for the next day. since there's no formal "rehearsal" this will hopefully make me feel a ton better about how things will go the next day!

ash, your pictures are gorgeous! i love the one with your hands shaped like a heart!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
