We want to get the basic Dream Wedding in Paradise package ($799) for free and will definitely have more than 5 rooms to get the package. Do we all have to book at the same time and through the same Travel Agent? The reason I ask is because some of our guests are purchasing online, some with their own TA, etc. Is there a way to link everyones rooms to our wedding so we get the package free and get to stay close to each other?
I know for Canadian bookings you have to have people book all together to get the discount for the rooms but I don't think it matters for the wedding package as long as everyone is all staying at the same hotel. I would check with your TA though as I'm not sure about the US rules.

When, if ever, did they charge you ladies the deposit??
I still have never been charged either... I don't think they do it until we get down there...

Just wanted to say the I am so excited....we will all be in P.C so soon. I don't know yet if I am nervous of all the stuff still to be done or the wedding :) Maybe one day when we are there we can meet up and grab a drink and relax. Have you gotten your apointement with the WC yet?
Tam I called Sunwing and the woman on the phone told me that the wedding gown is a "courtesy item" that makes me think that it isn't part of your carry on. Also she did tell me it ges in the over head, which I don't really like so I hope that there is a closet. Although I will be part of the mother and small child first to go on plane call so I may just grab the overhead and fill it with all my stuff so no one puts their bag on my garment bag.
Will any ladies be having their dress steamed or pressed the day before??
i look forward to hopefully meeting :)

Katie
Katie,
That's good to know as my TA told me my dress is my carry on... I'm going to phone tomorrow.. I have been freaking over this..

When do you fly out? We are leaving this Sat at 6:20am until the 23...

Jocy and Katie,
Have you guys already booked your hair appts? We haven't but now I'm not sure if I should ahead of time....

If my dress needs to be steamed (I think it's included isn't it?), then I will but my dress shop told me to just shower with it hanging in the bathroom a couple of times and it should be fine.. I am going to leave it with my friend so my FI doesn't see it..

Tam,

I fly out Sunday at 0610...early flight yuck! We are there until the 31st.

I requested my hair appt from Sharron about a month ago and she said that she would let the salon know. Sharron said that there are 2-3 girls working in the salon everyday so the appt would take an hour or so. Are you going to do a "walk through" of your hair beforehand?

Steaming it in the bathroom is a great idea. :)

Hello hello!!

OK so i seemed to have missed lots of discussions here..let me see if i can catch up!

So for the huppah thingy, I'm not taking anything with me to decorate it. I just want white fabric (no flowers) and was hoping the resort has it - does anyone know if that's true?

We're staying in the honeymoon suite. We'd originally booked the junior suite and then the prices for the honeymoon suite dropped and we ended up with that for the same price. It's funny coz we're not staying in a honeymoon suite on our honeymoon! Oh well...extra treats for wedding week!

As for the hair appointments - i've been trying to make these (and nail appointments) for MONTHS but for some reason this is a challenging task for the WC. Her last email on it told me 2 ladies do hair at the salon and they won't take appointments until the week off. Brilliant.

Oh yes and our deposit as NEVER been charged to our credit card. We booked our date 12 months ago and i've emailed a million times about the deposit and they've just never taken it. Lovely!

Let me know if i've missed something!!

2 weeks today till our wedding!!

9 days till departure!!

i believe the tulle is included.. you shouldn't have to bring anything else for the huppah!

as for the deposit, ours never got charged and if i remember right, they don't really charge you for it until you get down there. it's kind of strange. nat, you're the first person that i've heard of that actually got charged for their deposit!

well, i'm officially in the middle of nowhere in WV now. may actually have to stay over at least one of the two weekends when i'm scheduled on this client. you can imagine my excitement when i found that out. i hate being away from home for work!! wedding thoughts are getting me through though!

They haven't charged my card either from what past and current brides have said they don't charge your card until you get there. Like Erin said, I'm actaully surprised they charged your card Nat. I thought they only keep the cc info incase you cancel and have to pay the $100 deposit fee.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
