This is definitely one of those mornings where i just can't concentrate on anything but our upcoming wedding!!! EEEK!!!

So exciting. I have finally got my "To Do" list down to under 20 items. (I thought I'd never get there). Right now we're in music mode and FI is proving to be most helpful by shortening our songs that we'll dance with our parents. Who needs to be on the dance floor with everyone staring for a full 5 minutes...NOT ME!!

I made what will surely be my last trip to Michaels last night. I really should invest in their stock the amount of $$ i've spent there over the past year.

I'm hoping to be organized enough to get a planning thread put together next week... if not perhaps when i get back. But i will definitely post an excruciatingly detailed wedding review as right now i live by those from other brides!!

I think our airline lets us check two bags each and we're flying with another guy who's giving us his "second bag" spot. So I'm praying that 5 bags should be enough. Otherwise it'll be one almighty credit card bill that we'll deal with later!!

Toodles!

Hi Girls!

So... quick question.... Carolina just confirmed that our ceremony has to be at 3PM as the priest has another ceremonies schedule at 4PM and 5PM in different locations....

Is it too early to have the ceremony at 3PM? It last 1/2 an hour and then... I'm not sure what we would do with all the guests as I'm sure people don't want to start having dinner at 5PM....

any ideas or suggestionshuh.gifhuh.gif?

Thank you!!!!!!!!

Eliana

Are you using the priest they provide?? We are using Pastor Rick York who is an english speaking pastor there who does weddings and his ceremonies are tear jerking!! He sent me a sample and we immediately knew we wanted to use him. He charges $300 but I feel it is well worth it and he is performing our wedding at 5:30pm. You can email him at ryork@codetel.net.do and see if he is available on your day at the time you prefer.

Eliana - I don't think you're guests who care if you pointed them in the direction of the bar for a few hours or even back to their rooms to freshen up before your cocktail hr / reception starts!!

Our ceremony is 4pm and our cocktail hr doesn't start till 5:30pm. We've been to so many weddings over here where we have to amuse ourselves between ceremony & reception...and at least over there drinks are free!!

One thing to consider is how hot it will still be at 3pm? Not sure what temps are like in Dec at that time but might be worth looking into. Or maybe even check availability on the days either side if you're not super attached to that date!!

Hope you figure something out - good luck!

Thank you Jocy!!!! That is a great idea to have them go to the bar for a little while and to freshen up before your cocktail hr / reception starts. Unfortunately, my future husband really wants that date and doesn't want to change it. For me is the same, but I think I like the idea your idea!!!

According to the wedding coordinator during december and january it gets dark around 5:30PM, so she said it shouldn't be so hot at 3PM........

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
