Congrats on your wedding. I am getting married there in 2 weeks and have a couple of questions for you.

 

Was there a nicer/newer section of the hotel?

What hotel room/section did you stay in?

Did you get married on the beach or gazebo?

What wedding package did you choose?

Thank you so much for your honesty and congrats on becoming a Mrs.!! I am not going to lie, I am a bit discouraged now, but there is no going back so I guess I'll have to deal with whatever happens. I am looking forward to the answers to Tam's questions.

I too am concerned!! Has anyone else heard Dreams Palm Beach or Dreams La Romana is better??

holy moly... i took 2 weeks off from the forum and there's no way i'm going back to catch up!!

 

i just read Carynlesniak's review and while i agree that it's discouraging, i have heard that dreams is more than happy to change your room if you don't like it when you get there and they have enough availability. i also heard that they are in the process of renovating all of the rooms, but have only gotten through half or so right now so some of the rooms are really nice and others need to be updated. i'm trying not to be discouraged only because i know we won't be in our rooms much. lesson learned though i guess... don't leave stuff on the floor

 

i did manage to get done most of what i could by last night (my deadline). my to do list still looks daunting, but it includes everything from scheduling boarding for my dogs to using teeth whiteners and packing, so hopefully it's all i'll need!

That review was a little discouraging but I have stayed at Dreams before and maybe we were lucky not to run into any bad rooms, my sisters wedding suite was beautiful, and both our rooms were very nice! Our rooms were located on the right side of the pool...so maybe thats the newer side who knows.

 

Don't be discouraged ladies and stay off TRIPADVISOR! People only go on their to complain.

oh I definitely know about that Jenn! We absolutely love Bahia Principe in San Juan, but it gets realy bad reviews on trip advisor. Its true that people who write on there are usually looking for a place to vent their bad experience. And, you can never please everyone, nor should you try! I will be interested to hear more details though!

Oh I would also like to let you brides know that even though Dreams Punta Cana gets some bad reviews they rank 18 out of 98 hotels in Punta Cana!!!!!!! Therefore, I would truly like to believe that in some aspects or areas they must be good at.
