Dreams Punta Cana Brides

I agree with all of you and I hope this doesn't apply to us. I put my deposit down based on what was told to me from the WC and from what was advertised on the website and it wasn't this setup fee shit and this restriction on time and no music bull! Sorry I'm pissed right now, but I'm glad I decided to take a look for updates...just never expected this sad.gif

If they try to apply all these extra fees to the wedding package that we agreed upon I will move my wedding to the Melia Caribe Tropical, and if thats not availably possible the Paradisus Punta Cana. I have already emailed the Melia to see if my date is avaible if so I will then contact the TA to see if this is possible and would our guest be able to apply there deposits to the new resort. If Dreams doesnt add all this crap then I will stay where we are.

I also looked at the wedding guide again, and what Im hoping is that if you pick a package that the set-up fee will not apply. But I still can't get over the no music no dancing rule, that just doesn't make any sense how do you have a wedding reception with no music huh.gifhuh.gif I hope Deyanira say they will allow music on the terrace for private functions.

I really don't want to have to change locations I like DPC

I haven't heard anything back yet, has anyone else??

This means too, that I am going to bring down all the decorations for either the gazebo or chuppah (on the fence as to which one)... lots of tulle and that's probably it as it's the lightest to travel with. WTF, I hope all this old pricing still applies to everyone who's booked... haven't told the FI yet about all this..

I am waiting to hear back from DPC but I seriously upset. To be honest, it makes me not even want to give them my business. I have read the horror stories of secret fees being added on to your final bill when you check out so right now, even them telling me over email that I am safe makes me feel like I can't trust them. I am at a lost right now. Me and the FH have discussed possibly having our wedding somewhere else like Toya or even considering having it here now. Guess only time will tell!

Hey guys!

So the set-up fee is ridiculous! I'm hoping that if you get one of the wedding packages, this doesn't apply, since a private reception is one of the main things you're paying for when you get a package... If anyone hears anything, please post ASAP!

I did e-mail Sharron last week about the no dancing/music thing, and she said that it's only IN the restaurants that it's not allowed. She did not follow that up by saying that on the terraces, it's okay, but I'm hoping that's what's implied there....

Good morning ladies! :)

yeah Tara thats what I understood about the music and dancing thing... but aren't most of our receptions on the terraces anyway? That part doesn't affect me personally, since we are only doing a dinner reception then hitting the disco. But I will be curious to see what it means for those of you having this type of reception!

Does anyone have any updates?

Usually, she is so quick getting back to us (Deyanira)... thats what concerns me!

holy moly... i am gone for a few days and this is what happens?! i am 100% freaking out... no music or dancing at the reception for me is a deal breaker. i'm fine with getting married there.. we always wanted to do it on a beach, but to only be able to eat at my reception just won't work with the people i have. i was already thinking that they didn't allow much time for dancing anyway. and did anyone notice the additional wedding cake charge? that stuff is already in the packages isn't it?

they better clear this stuff up soon! has anyone checked to see if baltobabe has any info on the dreams forum?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
