Dreams Punta Cana Brides

Wow ladies, major activity today!!!!

xxashley, you look beautiful in your dress! It must be such an nice feeling to have found the perfect one. As for your question regarding hair and makeup, I think I'll be getting my bridal party to do mine, after a couple trials at the hair dresser and MAC, hopefully. I might change my mind on the hair part though, because I have heard good things about how DPC can do hair. My only problem is that I went to a destination wedding last year (not at a Dreams resort) where the bride's Mom had her hair done by the staff, and hated it so much she ended up wearing a big hat. So I'm terrified of that!

Pynklemonade - WELCOME! I think I was in touch with you over e-mail regarding photos of both resorts, right? I am working with Sharron, and she has been outstanding so far. She e-mails me back within 2 days at most, no matter how minor my question is. I met her when I visited DPC, and she was very honest and organized.

Irdavis23, would you mind forwarding me the e-mail of the 2010 prices? I'm having trouble opening the attachment. Also, I'm looking for a bit of clarification: Does the "dance floor - $450" price mean we have to pay extra to have a dance portion at our reception, before heading to the disco? Or is that for a specific set up, and if we don't want the set up, we can just dance our little hearts out on the terrace where we hold the reception? Does anyone know? I like the idea of the fire show or circus show to have during the rehearsal dinner or welcome dinner! I'm happy you finally found your dress, and I'm sorry it was such a terrible process! I'm terrified of going, because I'm worried I won't find anythign easily either, and since I'm now less than 7 months from my date, time is getting short!

tara.. i think the dance floor is if you want a specific area to dance, but i have never heard of anyone paying extra for this. i mentioned earlier i think it would make sense to get this if you wanted to dance and had your reception on the beach. otherwise, i think whatever terrace your on would be fine!

also tara, have you specifically been assigned sharron? i was told that closer to our dates we would get our individual WCs, but i haven't heard anything yet. you're only a few weeks ahead of me so i was curious if you had heard?

my MOH is in beauty school right now (she already did a trial of my hair on a dummy in one of her classes) so she'll be doing my hair and makeup and the hair of my other two BMs. it's handy to have that built in!

ash, i love that you offered to help out with autumn's wedding! that is awesome! so fun to know someone who is getting married around the same time at the same resort!

Tara I posted the menu prices on the above post, and I agree with Erin as far as the dance floor I don't think you have to rent a dance floor unless you have a beach reception. I think the terraces will be just sufficient for dancing

Are you ladies DIY-ing your hair and makeup? I am! I'm nervous, but I'll be fine I do both all the time for myself and friends.

Autumn1 - If you would like help with anything for your day, I would be more than happy to help. I can do make up, or help with anything else you need me for!
I am not sure about who's doing my hair yet, if it's going to be simple than I will do it or have help. I am going to my hairdresser in Dec to decide what I would like to do.
I am still trying to decide too if I want a veil or flower. I bought a veil, but now I am rethinking it...

As for makeup, one of my guests works for clinique, so I am going to ask her, otherwise, I was going to go to Mac and have a consult/lesson.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
