Dreams Punta Cana Brides

nsbride, I'm sure they would be fine with your bringing your own flutes, I'm not sure if you'd be able to find them there though. There are some super cute ones that I've seen, beach related ones and whatnot!

Thanks for the info Ebredhawk, we're looking at doing something like the towels, or a customized mug or something at the start of the trip for everyone, instead of favours at the actual wedding. I also thought custom ebroidered robes for the wedding party would be cute, since I want to take them to the spa, but I haven't been able to find anything reasonably priced.

Is anyone out there getting married April 12, 2010? I have yet to find any date twins! Speaking of dates, I have yet to step into a SINGLE wedding dress! How are you guys all doing for that? For those of you who have been out shopping for dresses, how did it go for you?

Happy FRIDAY, everyone!

Happy Friday to you too tara!

I already have my wedding dress... haha I know I'm lucky to have already found it and decided!! I knew exactly what I was looking for, so once I found it (it was the third dress I tried) I said "order it, thats the one"!

I haven't even found anyone close to my date except Toya, and she is like June 18th I believe.. anyone for July 2nd 2010?

By the way everyone check out the thread that just started in this Dominican Republic section about translation, it appears there may be a cheaper way to get the marriage certificate translated back over to English! :)

Good Morning Ladies and Happy Friday......

Guess what I have ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? All the 2010 Rates for everything, I email Deyanira and asked her about brining my own DJ and she said yes I can do that, and I asked her for all the 2010 pricing and I have them so I am going to try and upload all the documents, but if you want it really quick I can just forward the email she sent me. The pricing has change thou so I am glad I can now rebudget around the correct pricing. I am still waiting for her to send me the 2010 buffet prices thou.

These are the question I asked and here is what she sent me, her answers are in red. Oh and the difference in the 2009 and the 2010 menu that I just figured out is that the tax & service charge is now included in the total price for the food menu. I was about to have a heart attack because it looked the the price doubled but the since the tax & service charge is included I realized each dinner menu increased about 150-200 each per 20 people.

1.Can I bring my own DJ and we rent the speakers from the resort ? Yes. He would bring his own equipment but would need to plug into the speakers. Sure

2.Have the 2010 menu and extras rates come out yet ? Please, find the dinner package attached and below the extras rate.

So ladies after a long planning process, I am thinking about switching from Dreams Palm Beach to Dreams Punta Cana. I just wanted to get some feedback from you guys about what your experience has been working with the wedding coordinator there. I have recieved emails from "Sharron", but after reading this thread, alot of you guys mention Deyanira. Am I speaking with the wrong person?

And if someone would so graciously send me the wedding package info, wedding menus, extras, and any pictures that you may have I would really appreciate it. I was unable to download the attachments from lrdavis23. My email is [email protected]. Thanks for any feedback you ladies can provide.

Hi Misty, I will forward the emails I have right now, I personally have been working more with Deyanira and she is great, but I have heard great feedback that Sharron is awesome too. In the begining I was worried because they didn't respond the same day but now I fully understand how they work so I give them 3 days to respond an usually its before that.

for pictures of the resort and weddings I have been looking at pictures from the Dreams Punta Cana facebook page, The dreams resort forum on the Dreams website, and pictures on here from recent DPC brides.

what made you change your mind about DPB, I thought Melani seemed to be great to work with. I chose DPC because I like there many options for reception/dinner sites as oppose to PDB where they only had the beach or the ballroom. I also like the resort grounds at DPC

I also see that your in northern VA, I work in Arlington, where are you from ?

That's great, thanks so much Toya!!!!

Autumn1 - No problem :)

Tara - I already have my dress like Nat. I'm really fast with the whole planning process though, because I wont have the time to do this all when it's closer to the wedding. Here is a picture of me in my dress (sorry about the crappy Iphone picture). It's also not done up at the back so that's why it looks funny around the top and my tummy. wink.gif

Hey Toya:

Don't get me wrong, Melani is AMAZING and responds within 2-3 hours, maybe sooner; however after pricing the trip and reviewing what will get for the price, we decided that Dreams Punta Cana was better as far as the costs for room and board. And they had more room categories to choose from that met our budget.

I have heard that the reception sites are better at DPC too, so that is always a plus. Alot of brides on here are talking about using the indoor terrace for the reception, I wonder if it is enough space for a dance floor and DJ or if can only accommodate the dinner tables.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
