Yeah that's just it! We just want the dinner, no music (whatever is on in the background at the restaurant is fine), no DJ... just the supper! We will be paying a dj back here, and we want to make the DW as simple as possible!! I will send an email to Deyanira, Tam you should do the same and see what she says.

By the way, if any of you ladies are looking for a good motivational way to drop a few pounds before your wedding, there is a BDW Biggest Loser competition! The deadline to email your before pictures and a pic of your weight on the scale is by midnight tonight (Eastern time). There is no fee to enter... so if you are interested it is in the Beauty,Exercise and Diet section! Hope to see some of my fellow DPC brides there!

tara, i ordered the towels from Beach Towels wholesale manufacturer of custom embroidered monogrammed bath towel for corporate events and i got the bags from the lady that did my embroidery. she had a whole catalogue and i just picked the perfect one out of there. i need to call her and see if there's a website that has all of the stuff on it. i think if you want embroidered stuff you may get a cheaper rate going through someone who has a business though... i got a discount for getting so many and it would have been more expensive than ordering straight from the catalogue.

nat, i don't see why you couldn't just do the dinner and then go party. it's not like they can force you to stay there or anything! you don't have to do toasts or music or anything like that. from what i can tell everything can be as simple or as complex as you want it to.

toya, i asked my flower lady to do a little centerpiece demo for me so that i could post for everyone. it seems to be a popular style and we're all so into DIY that it may help some brides out!

I can't wait to see the demo centerpiece.

Hey Nat, I'm not paying for the extra hour during the reception, I plan on dinner, dancing, a DJ, and a toast, by then 3 hours will be up and we can head to the disco. so mine will be somewhat simple with some extras lol.....

Autumn1 - I forgot to ask do you have a photog yet?? If not you could always look at mine and we could share! Just a thought! I've already paid for everything, so she's flying down regardless. She's been published in a destination wedding magazine (called Destination Weddings & Honeymoons... which she sent me) and everything, she is fantastic!

Ashley - I am actually going with Photo Souviner for our date...but, thank you SO much for thinking about me...that was very thoughtful! So, you are bringing all of your own centerpieces, etc? I just can't decide on that stuff. I will already be carting all of my oot bags and fillings, my dress, my luggage...ugh. I am wondering if I shouldn't just incorporated my bm's boquets into the centerpieces somehow and save on bringing vases and stuff down. Any suggestions? Also, for those of you that don't want to buy the cake knife and serving set (not sure if I do or not b/c I will never use it again), they do have a stainless steel one at the resort. I am still waiting to see if it costs to use/rent...b/c if it does, then I might as well buy one. I obviously want the toasting flutes as keepsakes...just wasn't sure if I really needed the serving set. I will let you know when I find out on if it does cost. Have a great day, Ladies!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
