i'd definitely do this! print out the email she sent with the picture you attached and make sure it's no more than $350. honestly, i think the $350 includes flowers. their centerpieces are $90 (!!!!!!!) and i have to believe that they've got this setup and the fabric hanging around some where and if you don't add any extras they just put it up and take down the arch. maybe that's wishful thinking though? :) i plan on asking my WC (once one gets assigned to me) what the price will be w/out flowers and then i'll let you guys know!

Thanks ash! Yea I think I'll be okay for my date. I was thinking to put it in November, outside of hurricane season but I don't want to wait that long to be married and I like the thought of celebrating my anniversary in summer rather than winter. Having said that, I still haven't put it together yet! There is something really daunting about it...or maybe I am on BDW too much and never get around to it :P Gonna try and tackle it now.

Finally booked the hotel....it was crazy, but we did it!

Dreams Punta Cana here we come....Jan16-23. Even got the wedding date I wanted, but now I still need to decide whether to have a civil or symbolic... leaning towards symbolic this time...would just be much easier...and cheaper!

any thoughts??

Congrats Tam!!! In my opinion, it would be a lot less of a head ache (just because of all the paper work and extra money) to go with the symbolic. However, if you are set on getting "legally" married in front of family and friends at Dreams, I would say go for civil. Honestly, I would love to just go get married today at the court house and then do a symbolic ceremony while I was down in Punta Cana, BUT my family and his family are going there because they want to see us get married, and we want them to be there for the actual thing too! So we are going for civil. It's whatever you feel is right for the both of you!

I agree with you, Ash!! We went back and forth between a symbolic and a civil ceremony, and finally we have decided on the civil. Although it is much less headache to do a symbolic, we wanted our wedding anniversary (as everyone knew it) to be that day. It wouldn't make it any less special, but we also had to intention of not telling anyone we go married before. We decided that we didn't want to deceive our family, so we are going with civil.. haha! But if your parents and family and guests are aware that it is a renewal of vows so to speak, and are still willing to come and are ok with it, I would go with that!!

Heeyyy Nat,

I didn't do my own I use a company called Pink Design Monograms, her designs are soo cute here's her website Pink Design Events - Stylish Stationery Design she is actually on maternity leave right now but will be back soon. I've seen a couple other brides on here use her services as well.

Hey does anyone know if you bring a DJ can you rent equipement from the resort ? I don't want to use the resort DJ because if he is not good I will be very upset. I though about using DJ Mannia but I don't want to pay him 800 and have never heard his dj'ing skills. I'd rather pay my own DJ to come and i know exactly how he sounds. We both love good music. what do you all think ?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
