Dreams Punta Cana Brides

I was hoping to pay $4000 for my fiance and I to go to Dreams PC for two weeks taxes/insurance in and $1500 taxes/insurance in MAX for my guests. Is this reasonable for dreams? I found these prices on expedia for this year at the time that I would like to go next year. I know there are issues with expedia and would prefer to use a TA, but honestly, I talked to a TA who said that those prices are impossible to get for Dreams PC (but I saw them on expedia!). The prices she is telling me I will likely pay are WAY higher ($1500 before taxes/insurance for one week) and, quite frankly, would be a deal breaker and my guests would likely not go. I am in Toronto, Canada. Any thoughts?

I have been getting quotes for approx. $1250-1350+ taxes $309+ for the third week in January, we should be having about 40 people going. Many of the tour companies like selloffvacations or itravel2000.com just give discounts for 10+ people booking, which is kinda weird as you would think the more going the bigger the discount.

SSNM,

Try selloffvacations or itravel2000. Or, when you talk to any TA, make sure you tell them you would like internet pricing or close to it. Flight centre.ca is not bad and they will price match from anyone if it's on the same day. I am currently trying to price for DPC too and am also from T.O.

Right now as well, selloff is having a special that I think ends tomorrow, but the tax is only about $200 and the trip is $1238/person. This also includes for every 11 adults booked, the 12 is free.

Awesome deal from everything I've seen, but they require payment in full by Aug.25.

So, I am going to ask again for prices Aug. 26 and hope for at least a month....no idea why the hotel has it set up that way...and not much time to give to your guests to pay either.

Don't forget too that you can negotiate price a bit .... just think that even the internet companies are still TAs do not earn their money, but I just look at it like I have already done a lot of the leg work ...finding the hotel, contacting the WC to find out dates, etc.

Sorry for the long message, but hope this helps.

Also, let me know if you find a good TA or price. :)

Thanks Tam. I heard sunwing has some good rates right now, but I also heard they are a bit unstable and might go the way of conquest and jetsgo...I have since done some research on the difference between TA's and online booking and it really does seem like you just have to wait for a good tide to come in and then ride it when it comes to prices for trips no matter who/what you book with. Ofcourse you have to take in to consideration various things like if the price includes transfers, taxes/fees for entering the country (10$ USD for D.R., right??), layovers, etc. I would like to use a DW-TA just to have an advocate in the even something goes wrong, to negotiate better wedding packages, and to let me know of important things about travelling that I may not think about...if the price is too much though, I might have to fall back on extensive research and good insurance!

Anyway, I digress from the topic at hand. Perhaps people would like to share what they paid to stay at Dreams PC or perhaps have other questions on Dreams PC? Actually, I have one:

Children meals? How much? I was told 1/2 price of an adult by the WC but I have heard of people paying $5/kid (much less than 1/2 price)! My feeling is that it is 1/2 price when the kids are eating rack of lamb with the rest of the adults but $5 if they are eating chicken fingers...but my WC made it sound like it was 1/2 price for chicken fingers??

Hi ladies!

Personal experience right now is that any prices you are being quoted right now (and those for online) for later in 2010 are "early booking bonus" quotes. My FH and I are getting married July 1st or 2nd next year and the prices we are getting would require that everyone in our party be all paid up by November 30th! Not even we can afford to do that (we have a wedding to pay for after all!)

So when you are speaking to your TA's just verify that with the prices you're being quoted that your guests have until 60 days (or whatever the minimum may be with that company) to pay for their trip.

:)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
