Hello Sister Brides,

I new to the forum but I've been stalking it since I decided to have my wedding at Dreams for a couple months now. My wedding next year and so far I have been trying to get some group rates from different Liberty Travel agents but none of them has gotten back to me, I guess because Dream's don't have their calendar up to date yet. So I'm wondering how long did you ladies wait to give your guest prices? Now I'm just giving people rough estimates based on this year pricing.

Congrats and welcome. I am getting married there in May, and Yes they do take a while but they will contact you. Margarita Polanco is the person that takes care of group bookings but beware I was told the prices do not include ground transportation. Good choice on resort everything I have been told is good.cheesy.gif

Hi everyone, I'm getting married at the end of May and have sorted most stuff out but I'm after a bit of help - I have emailed my wedding co-ordinator but she always takes a week to come back to me and I'm impatient!! Our reception is on the El Patio terrace but I wanted the cocktail hour on the beach - has anyone got any idea of what they charge for this, originally I was told $15 per person but have since established that this is if you have the whole reception on the beach. I also wanted a rehearsal dinner on the italian terrace unfortunately this is booked and I don't want it on the same terrace a the wedding and as there is only 20 of us I think the Himitsu terrace will be too big - I know I can pay $15 per person for a set up in a restaurant, has anyone done this (thinking probably oceana) were you all sat on one long table and is it a set menu (I haven't been sent these options does anyone have them?) and if I did this I was thinking I could maybe do a private cocktail party beforehand, but wondering what locations I could have this if I'm not having the meal on a terrace (and obviously don't want the beach as it'll be the same as the wedding)! Sorry rather long I know but if anyone could help I'd appreciate it. Kellie PS - I have had a lot of the menu, flower choices, price for 2013 etc sent to me so if anyone wants me to email them anything please let me know, I was also lucky enough to visit the hotel last year so have some pictures if anyone wants anything.
hi, here is my email. can you please send me any pricing list. thanks. nrbc919@aol.com

I used Wright Travel Agency (The BDW agents) and was able to book over a year in advance for Dreams Punta Cana.  I would suggest giving them a try.

Congrats Sister Bride!!!!

I was able to get prices closer to 11 months out - maybe even more. I used Liberty Travels & they have been really great to work with. Most TA base prices wont change but the perks would- either you get credits ($$$ you can put to pay your stay or someone else's room) -which I am doing. Since my fiance and I are paying for our parents rooms, we are using the credits we are earning from rooms being booked via the travel agent to pay for that expense. It's definitely a nice trade off!!

please ask as many question as possible when talking to the TA's!   the one and only complaint that i have is when I decided to book with Liberty Travels, I was given the most ridiculous deposit deadline for people to RSVP. My wedding is the end of June and the TA was telling me that I needed to get RSVP's in October (of last year) ridic! So it wasn't until later that I asked to move the date did they properly explain why- basically I needed to either place a $1500 deposit to go into contract with the resort to hold my group rate (or) have people/guests who want to RSVP early/book (just their rooms) by placing a $300 deposit per room ($150 per adult based on double occupancy) which is 5 rooms.  Had I known that I could have just given $1500 to go into contract I would have done that w/out providing my guests with a ridiculous date to RSVP. I of course made it clear for them to ignore the date listed on the travel site b/c its not my real RSVP date. So it just caused massive confusion and I didn't want people to feel pressured to book so far in advanced.

I actually received some great rates from Wright Travel and I decided to do a group block of $100 per room which at the moment I'm going to do 12 rooms. Come to think about it, I didn't ask any questions about the rate or rooms I would need when more people start confirming. HMMM, That's something I will definitely ask my TA about, thanks for the heads up and congratulations on your up coming wedding hun!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
