THANK YOU for the day of itinerary!!! this helps me out sooo much! Glad I can help

BTW, seriously everything you are doing is what we want!!! :)    I do have a few questions if you don't mind :) :) Don't mind at all

- My PRican fiance is a Perico Ripiao fanatic! That was his "must have" :) :P  I already know your wedding is going to be bananas!!! Btw, I'm curious to know why they are only scheduled for half an hour? is that all the the resort offers?

The Perico Ripiao is $400 for 1 hour. We only want them to play for 30 minutes (but we don't get to pay half, the rate stays as is) so that's why you see that I only have them scheduled to play for 30 minutes. We will play this by ear...if we see that our guests are enjoying the band we will have them do the entire set.

- Who did you hire as your DJ?

I have no idea.... I booked the DJ through Deyanira (my coordiantor) We have a few favorite songs on an iPod and hard drive that we're taking with us so we're sure he plays what we want.

- Why does your reception end so late?? Is it b/c you are in the ballroom?

Because I wanted an extra hour. I smmmmoooozed my way (payng a little extra) so that my reception could be 7:30-11:30

& thank you for giving us another florist option!! I'm interested in seeing how your arrangements come out. Before I start asking around since I only have 5 tables and am still debating on what to do.

I heard they do a pretty good job!  Not sure about hair yet.  Im buying my own makeup here and having them show me how to do it.  Just in case...Im having a test run before the wedding so I have an Idea of what to expect.  Im hoping I have no worries.  I also heard to make your hair app.  soon.  Dont wait till you get there.  Which reminds me I should email her about that.  Thanx! :)

Dream Punta Cana Brides: For those who have external vendors hired, have you been able to get the original day pass ticket honored or are you going to pay the $150 per vendor? My wedding is in October and have it booked since January. I am so disappointed that this policy change is affecting me after the fact. Thoughts?

I have a very large wedding party (11 bridesmaids). It's my big fat Dominican Wedding :P so I'm sure you can adjust the times to fit your wedding.

thanks ladies for the responses!!!!!

ok so i do have one more question hehe... kind of a special request for those of you ladies heading out there soon.

I am in desperate need of pictures of the Oceana Restuarant :/   -- since its not one of the main wedding venues I've totally exhausted the photos I can get out of my WC. & they are so hard to find online. The ones that I do find are of the outside & don't really give me any kind of perspective. I feel totally lost in terms of space & what I can do in there for decor.

so, IF  you happen to have time and/or remember - could you snap a few for your fellow sister bride!??? :)  i would soo appreciate it!!!

xxoo

LOL  that is awesome Grace!!!!!  i'm asking for a 4 hour reception too. I dont know how ppl can squeeze everything into 3 hours -- I totally want to dance it up & have a good time and dont want to feel rushed!  & thanks for all the responses :) :)

so this is a general question for you Sister Brides :)

traditionally I know cocktail hours are meant to be fillers b/c you are off taking photos. but my ceremony is at 3 & have a 2 hour gap in between so i should be able to join my guests at cocktail hour

so my questions are:

are you using cocktail hour to for photos or will you be joining your guests before the reception???

if you are joining your guests, are you doing anything special while you are w/ them??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
