Hi Chinanow

You won't have a problem.... Dominicans are known for being great hair dressers! We have every skin color and hair type you can think of! I was born in NY but both of my parents are Dominican and I am 100% confident you will be happy with your hair!

Makeup --- I'm not sure.... although I emailed the Spa directly and asked if they knew how to apply fake eyelashes and they told me yes. So boom there you go :)

I wanted to ask you, did you have to pay extra to have the cocktail and the reception at 2 different places? I thought we only had the choice of having both at one place.

Thanks :)

Hi Carolina13,

No, I didn't pay extra. I was told the location was on a "First come first serve basis" and I booked my wedding 10 months in advance so I had free reign! Talk to your coordiantor :)

I don't think you'll have any problems with your hair, as Dominican women have all types of hair and should be familiar with anything you want them to do.  As far as make-up, I'd suggest taking a few pictures with you to show what you want your make up to look like, so it's clear what you want.

Hi everyone, I have just joined and think this is a great chance to get some ideas from other brides. I will be getting married here in July of 2013, but I have never been here. All and any helpful suggestions are welcomed. I am super excited and can't wait ....I have already changed my mind about things soo many times, first beach wedding, now gazebo, i think I will drive myself crazy before the wedding day. :)

I have lots of beautiful pictures!!! My photographer was HDC and my wedding package included ceremony pictutes, which were also good. We had a symbolic ceremony. As far as tips, I wouldn't pay extra for the dj. I rented the music system and we took our ipod. Like I said previously, the music they have at the resort is not good, so thaks god we decided to go with the ipod than with the dj. For me, it wasn't worth to pay $500 for a dj for 3 hours. I can send you pics if u want. Give me ur email.

Hi Yadira,

I also just sent you a private message with my email address. Thanks so much for sharing!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
