Skyy, Thanks for the info. I am just trying to compare different travel agencies. I contacted Barbara from Wright Travel but she said I have to give $100 deposit for each room I reserve so that would be at least $1000 if I block 10 rooms. Im not sure if I want to do that :/               MsVasq is also working with Liberty Travel and she gave me her TA (Thanks again Jessica). I emailed the TA but she is out of the office until monday so I have to wait :(                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 MsVasq and LisaRN congratulations!!! You are officially getting married!! So happy for you girls :)

I also going with Portofino. I originally wanted to do a beach reception but it is $20 extra per person. I got a group quote from my TA but I don't think I'm going to take it. We don't want to worry about filling up the rooms or placing all these deposits.

Thank you Carolina :)   -- oh yes! i forget she's out. But she's checking emails. Maybe she will respond!  btw if you are doing a room block they will charge a deposit, not sure how much b/c I've opted to let individuals book they're rooms (they pay a deposit then can pay off the rooms as they wish.)  I had the same reservations that nrbc919 has, I really didn't want to worry about filling the rooms. but good luck!

Natalie, I know its so hard. The only reason I want a TA is bc I want all the guests to stay in the same area of the hotel and bc I dont want to have to worry about anything. But I dont know. My fiance told me last night that we should forget about a TA and just have our guests book on their own.

Carolina13 - I highly recommend getting a travel agent. I used Patty from Wright Travel. She was amazing, very responsive to all my guests and made sure everything was done smoothly. Trust me, its really great to not have to deal with all the questions and making sure payments are made. As for the $100 per room block, it's applicable to your room so just think of it as paying for your room in advance. I also great rates from her that included roundtrip transportation.

Carolina13 -

I highly recommend the TA option. They'll take care of everything for you. I used Patty from Wright Travel.
She made everything so easy for me and my guests! Very quick responses, good price including round trip transfers.

As for the $100 per room block, that's applicable for your final payment for your room, so just think of it as prepaying that.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
