Hello everyone, I am Natalie and my fiance and I are trying to plan out wedding for the summer of 2013 in Punta Cana. We were looking at Barcelo before but we are inquiring with Dreams PC now. I have been in contact with wedding coordinator Carolina but we have not been able to get an exact date. I want to have a Catholic ceremony in June but I've already requested 2 dates and the priest is available either too early or too late (3pm or 7pm). Is anyone else having a Catholic ceremony and had issues with time? I also see there are a couple of July brides and I was curious about whether it is more expensive to book flight&hotel during July which is high peak? I look forward to being able to share with u guys on this forum.

mdf1us, it's my undertsanding that you can pretty much request any flowers, but it may cost you extra dependind on whether they are in season or not. I was actually planning on sending her a few pictures and asking her if they may be able to do those arrangements and depending if the flowers are in season, or not, I think i will just substitute them with similar flowers in order to save some money.

Grace, the peacock colors sound amazing!!! I have seen a lot of different ideas where they use peacock colors and it looks great and yes the menus will definitely add something extra to the table.

congratulations nrbc919! Very exciting =)

At first I wanted to have a Catholic Ceremony as well but found that it's too much of a hassle to go through all the different requirements so my fiance and I are going to have a civil ceremony in California a few months before the wedding in Punta Cana and once we are there we will just have a symbolic ceremony. I think this may be the easiest route if you are ok with it not being religious. I was actually thinking of having a friend of ours do a reading in order to add a little bit of scripture to it. Good luck!

aww boo, ok I guess that makes sense... I'm not really all that picky as far as what flowers are used I just want to make sure the colors are similar to the color scheme I am using. I love hydrangeas and peonies =( but oh well. I have also been in contact with Deyanira but I haven't heard from her in a few days, how long is her response time when you e-mail her? I'm just nervous that she isn't responding = / also when you filled out the reservation form with a copy of your credit card information did you have any issues? How often do they charge your credit card and are they good about providing receipts? My wedding is so far away but I feel this sense of urgency in having all these questions answered, for my own peace of mind...

Thanks!!!!

@ sherylh WELL ... I have never gotten a reciept..even though I've asked for one! I printed all of my email communication with the resort and have my bank statements to show what I've been charged so far. I plan to bring it with me.

At first, I found myself emailing her questions almost everyday... so what I do now is I put together a word document and outline my questions. She replys right under my questions.. It takes her a few days but that way I get all of my answers at once.

I started planning 10 months out so I had similar feelings BUT once I got my questions answered I felt better. I met her in person this past January when I went for the weekend and we went through everything for my personal sanity!

LOL let me know how else I can help.

Thank you! That sounds like a good idea, I think I need to let go of a little control here (although it's in my nature and it's sooo hard, lol). I think once we actually begin all the planning I will definitely need to create a system in order to ensure that I have proof of payment and whatnot. I read somewhere that they require you to pay everything upon arriving at the resort but can you just make payments and then pay the final bill when you're there so it won't be one large sum? Also I think you mentioned you were going to have cocktails on the terrace, do they charge an extra fee to use that area? or is it just the cost per person? Thanks again, because I'm sure I will have TONS more questions as time goes by, hahaha

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
