Hi Ladies

I got married last week (March 27th) and it was fantastic!  My WC was Carolina and she took care of everything.  There is no need to worry because she is really good at was she does!  We had our ceremony on the beach and cocktail/reception at the Himitsu.  All 46 of us had so much fun.

Please feel free to ask me anything!  I was so stressed before going but everything was great!  :)

Congrats Melly81!! I have a few questions for you! For the beach ceremony, did you get the Huppah decorated or just the linens? Was the beach windy? What time was your ceremony? Did you get your hair/makeup done there? If so, what time were your appointments? What dinner package did you go with? How was the food? That's all I have for now! Thanks! Jackie

Hi Jackie! For the beach ceremony, the Huppah was decorated in white linens. I couldn't justify paying hundreds of dollars to have it decorated. It was simple and elegant. I had brought my own purple chair sashes and purple flower petals for the aisle and it looked amazing. We got married at 5pm and it was a bit windy but nothing crazy... I had my hair and makeup done at the salon and I can't recommend them enough. My hair looked amazing! She even put in my extensions and did everything I asked for. I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup! Since we were having pictures done before the ceremony (2pm) my appointment was at 11:30am and I had just enough time without feeling rushed. We chose the silver dinner package and the food was really good. No complaints. Our wedding cake was vanilla flavored and tasted really good! Melanie :)

Congrats Melly!!!!

Thank you for answering all of the questions Jackie asked! (she asked everything i was going to lol) I was wondering, how much were they charging to have the huppah decorated? I'm thinking about doing the same thing because my FI doesn't like the plain linens. Also did you have a DJ?

Hi Deemore! It says in the wedding guide that to have the huppah decorated it's like $500...to me it's really not worth it. The ceremony last 10 mins! We did a sand ceremony that added an extra 3 mins. :) I didn't have a DJ. I had an iPod with all my music divided into different playlists. My friend was our MC and was in charge of the music. Worked out great!

Thanks Melanie for all the info! It sounds like our days are going to be very similar! What dinner items did you choose? Did you wait till you got there to tell the WC all your arrangements (decorations, bouquet, dinner choice)?  Also, what kind of extentions did you get? I thought about getting some but didnt want to spend too much money for them.

Deemore, Im also going to do a sand ceremony. It took me forever to find a vase I really liked. My FI has two children so we are also going to have them be a part of it. While searching for a vase I did come across sand ceremony picture frames too that were really cute.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
