Anyone include an itinerary for the OOT bags? We are wanting to do a rehearsal dinner (just at one of the restaurants there so it's all inclusive - not the formal private one they offer) but how am I to know when to plan it? When did the WC contact everyone for a rehearsal?

I asked the resort and they said for every 6 rooms you get one free, up to 3 free rooms....not sure when they offer this but I contacted them directly. We have no kids but my family does and I really want them to be there. Thanks for the info on the swim up rooms though, I wouldn't have thought to ask about the kids in those rooms...but I suppose they probably would be told when booking.

They did not allow them to be booked in our room because we chose to get a swim-up room and there are no children allowed in these types of rooms, so my parents ended up getting the family suite. (I have the best parents in the world.)

I also know that for the reception kids eat for half price, but other than that I'm not sure. Have you talked to your travel agent about getting a group rate? Mine is still looking into it for me and our wedding is in June. I think it's considered after there are 10 rooms booked or something but I can't be 100 percent positive.

TJC - I had NO idea about that fee! I guess that also applies to my dj as well...lean something new everyday...ugh.

Also - this might sound kind of dumb...but do any other brides have a fear of flying like I do??cry.gif

Before we started booking, I saw this special on their website as well but after reading the details of the offer, I realized it does not apply to groups attending a wedding, unless you have somehow found a way around it? I think the best thing to do is call the resort and get a group rate.

Hey everyone,

Im a newbie here but so far loveeee reading about everyones wedding ideas and plans. Our wedding day is 08/11/2012... I'm extremely excited nd anxious already. Btw does anyone know what the centerpieces they have look like, would it be better to just invest in my own?? It's so hard to plan from far away.

As far as kids go, we have 5 attending. According to my travel agent they are priced according to age (13 and over is charged as an adult), but for the younger kids I have seen other people post that they are half price for the reception. Also, my travel agent said that Dreams or Apple vacations will run a promotion periodically that kids are free. Don't know when your wedding is, but maybe keep an eye out for that promotion.

I'm pretty sure you're right on that, since it is technically just symbolic there is no legality to it. But yes, I agree that hopefully no one realizes that!!

Thanks for the heads up DominicanLeila! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
