Hey DRwedgal,

I met with the owner of

http://www.bloombridal.com/ the flowers look amazing!

The quality of the flowers is very good, the colour of the flowers look realistic.

She is based out of Toronto so you can always meet with her to see some samples or have some bouts sent to you.

I will be ordering my bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, corsages, and bouts from her.

I can't believe how soon my wedding is coming!!! (July 11, 2011) I'm sooo excited but also starting to get nervous making all of the plans and trying to sort out what items I should buy and bring with me to the resort, or what items to just rent.... I have a few questions to past and current brides:

1) Has one used real-touch/"natural" flowers as bouquets or corsages or boutinneires? I can't decide if I want to pay for the flowers at the resort or order these real-touch flowers which I found online.

2) I have heard on this thread that the cake for 10 people actually feeds about 30 people. Is that true? If so, should I only pay for cake for about 30 guests if I really have 60 attending?

3) Lastly, has anyone seen or used the fireworks option for their wedding? My fiance and I are interested in adding this to our package, but its pretty expensive and I want to make sure that it's worth it. Thoughts?

Thank you all for all your support, great ideas and feedback :)

Hi again everyone!  I may have good news.  I don't know if anyone loves the chivari chairs that Dreams has on their website as much as I do or if anyone was disappointed at the price Dreams quoted for providing them ($20 per chair), but I found an outside vendor who said he can provide them for $3 a chair plus $450 for transportation and set up, which is still kind of pricey but much more do-able, ending up being about half of what Dreams was charging.  Also he sent  us an email yesterday saying that he'd spoken to Jennifer and she gave him the green light to provide the chairs for us even though he's an outside vendor.  Fingers crossed!!!

Also, has anyone done or plan on doing OOT bags?  So far I've gotten travel packs of tylenol, pepto bismal, immodium, sunscreen, bug spray and aloe.  I found everything pretty reasonably priced on this site:  http://www.minimus.biz/default.aspx

Now I'm debating what else to put in these bags.  I think when I get there I'm going to see if they have schedules of events to include and maybe bottles of mamajuana to bring in some of the local flavor.  Now I'm wondering if I should include little bags of snacks (that I individually pack to save on costs).  I've never been to an all inclusive resort before, so I'm not sure what the snack situation is there.  Does anyone think it would be nice to have snacks for by the pool or on the beach, or are there snacks around?  Obviously meals and things are included, so I don't know if this is kind of redundant and unnecessary or if it would be nice to have something to throw in your bag and munch on rather than having to go to one of the restaurants or bars to search out food.

Anyone have any thoughts or input?

Hey kwaller82,

I'm also doing OOT bags so thanks for the link for travel size stuff! :) When i've been to all-inclusive resorts, they usually have snack bars or BBQs right by the pools, so maybe you won't need to include snacks. Or atleast that's been my experience. Good luck either way! :)

Thanks Kwaller for your update on the chairs. I was definitely interested in the chairs, until i saw the price! Who is the outside vendor that you are using for the chairs? I think i may just use the chairs and the chair covers and have the tables decorated with color so it's not too white. Still debating as i don't want splurge on chairs and instead splurge on food and drinks.

As for the OOT bags, I am also including the above items you mentioned, and additionally, bandages, key card holder with lanyard, hand sanitizer, toothpaste, hand fans, pen, powder drink (for the bottle watered), crossword book, playing cards, spanish phrase book, wedding day events, who's at the resort, welcome letter. I am not including snacks as they will be able to find food/snacks anywhere they are on the resort, so i think it would be a waste of money and space for me to bring.

Hope this helps!

Hi Everyone... I am booking Michael with Caribbean Emotions Photography... I was wondering if anyone else has used him?  I find it strange that he does not require a deposit for his services.  How can I be sure that he shows up??!!  THanks for your help!!

Hello Ladies,

For those of you who have already gotten married or if you know the answer, I would like to know what is the proper amount to tip al the vendors we are using (photographer, DJ, wedding coordinator)? I actually have no idea, do we tip like we would tip here in the states?

Thanks!

Hi ladies my name is Liz and i am from Penetanguishene, ON Canada. I am getting married at Dreams on Jan 16th 2012 (we are going from the 12th -19th 2012). I have tried to look through all the information here and i have gone on the Dreams web site but i cannot find any where to see pictures of the different colours you can choose to decorate the chairs, gazebo, restaurant etc or even different flower boquets you can pick etc. There are a few pics with the table set up with gold bows and one with pink on a terrace but is there somewhere you can go to see all the things they offer ? We have Carolina as our WC and we are doing a symbolic ceremony at the Gazebo so i am not sure if she can email me a colour scheme or anything..any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much.  Liz    shastalc@yahoo.com i also am on FB as Liz Denny Barrie, ON

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
