Thanks to both of you for getting back to me! You are both right, my fiancé keeps telling me the same thing. Don't worry about the guests so much, just fall in love with a property and then try to find the best price from there. There is only so much you can do and the people who really want to be there for you will! So I guess I just have to learn to hope for the best! It's just so hard to pick something without ever seeing it in person.  I've gone on expedia and other travel website and you hear such mixed reviews.  Like people were complaining that Punta Cana had a lot of mosquito and the beaches were full of seaweed. But I know you have to take those comments with a grain of salt. I feel reassured to have found to lilboltz10. It's nice to hear from a past bride experiences. I also read your journal! That was amazing!! Thanks again for the help! Best of luck WellJen!!

We picked DPC after we went to the resort last year.  It only cost us about $700 pp for about 4 days.  It was a last minute booking.  I may help to see the place.  Just look at apple vacations for 3 or 4 day deals.  All you really need is at least 2 days to fall in love (actually I fell in love as soon as I arrived).  You can contact the WC prior to going and meet with her as soon as you arrive.  Hope this helps.

Happy planning

I was married there in February and I decided on the resort just based on the website and it was the best choice I made.  The resort is gorgeous and you will not be disappointed with the choice at all.  I searched around for a TA to help my guests secure the best possible price and all the TA's gave me prices that were at least $400.00 more then my guests could find online by themselves So I just said forget it and let my guests book as they wished.  I think the most expensive price was 1800 and that was a single person who booked last minute.  No one else in my party paid more then $1500/person for 7 days and all of my guests had an amazing time.  We never had an issue with mosquitos or seaweed but I mean your on the beach and there is seaweed in the sea so it wouldn't suprise me if you were to find some.  The resort staff racks the beach every morning and it always look beautiful. Believe me when I say that you will have an AMAZING time and forget all about the stress the second you step foot in the DR.

Most of our guests booked in August for our February wedding there was a couple of weeks where prices really dropped and most people booked then.  I kept my eye on the prices pretty much everyday and would bug people over facebook or email or through our website to let people know what the prices were and what site was the best to book with. Most people are fully capable of finding the best prices all on their own and will end up booking on their own anyways. Save yourself the hassle of a TA when most the time they are the highest prices rather then the lowest.

To recent Dreams PC Brides:

I know that they have not yet set up the web streaming for weddings yet but I was wondering if there is internet access on the beach.  If they are not offering the streaming, we would like to skype it if possible.  Just wondering if this was possible.  Any suggestions or advice?

Hello Brides! This page has gotten really quiet, i hope all the planning is going well and keeping you busy!

I'm still working on finalzing the details (like flowers, OOT Bags, Tent Cards, Table numbers etc...) I bough our luggage tags from a wholesaler in China! I'm so excited as they are personalized with our wedding logo and so much fun. We are going to mail them as a teaser gift 2 months from the date of the wedding to all guests who are coming. I also finally picked out the bridesmaid dresses and now need to find shoes for me! Unfortunately 2 folks in our wedding party are expecting, so they won't be able to make the wedding.... so now I'm down to 4 Bridesmaids, oh well. Anyway, would love to hear how everyone else's planning is going!

The video streaming would be really cool since lots of folks can't make the wedding! I wish they had that available. I'm know you can get wi-fi for a daily/weekly rate, but not sure how the quality will be for streaming. Hope you figure something out ksugirl!

Hey Ska2m,

The reason for my radio silence, is that we are down to 29 days before we leave for the DR!!! I can't believe how fast time is flying by, it feels like it was only yesterday that me and my fiance got engaged.

Things are moving along, waiting for the delivery of a few things, like our guest books!

The only things left to do now are a make-up trial, so I can take some photos to give to the ladies at the spa and then printing out the welcome letters for our OOT bags, our donation favour tags and the name cards for our guests seating arrangements.

One thing that has gotten me stumped is that I'm trying to do what ever I can to avoid having to transport 5-6 glass round vases down to the DR.

Anyone have any suggestions on where I might be able to locate some acrylic vases?

I'm not sure about acrylic vases, but I am looking into having Dreams rent vases for our centerpieces since they don't have bigger ones on hand.  I left another voicemail w/ them today and will post the pricing info on here when I have it.  Fingers crossed that it's not too expensive.  I'm asking them about the tall glass vases and about the lanterns they have in the new pictures on the wedding tab of the website on the Himitsu and El Patio Terraces.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
