Dreams Punta Cana Brides

I'm wondering about the TTD session also! (I booked with Michael Weiler, too!).. I'm going to be wearing a traditional India dress and I have NO idea what sand and ocean water might do to that! Any previous brides have any ideas?

Hi Ladies,

My dress was silk, It looked OK after going in the ocean with it, just a bit wrinkly. It dried on the balcony within a few hours. There was some sand in the beading that I couldn't get out but I'm sure that will be fine after I get it back from drycleaning. I took it too the drycleaner soon as I landed. I haven't got it back yet but I'll let you know how it looks when I do.

If you want to do a TTD just do it, you'll regret it if you don't. I wasn't planning on doing one, but changed my mind while I was there, luckily our photographer was able to do one with us :)

Hello ladies,

I just got an email from my WC saying that they are no longer accepting external suppliers and said I still have time to cancel with Michael W. since my wedding isn't until November.

Has anyone else confirmed this with their WC? Mine is Yessica. I HOPE this is a mistake I was really looking forward to working with Michael. I told her that I booked with him prior to March 17, I hope she did not misunderstand.

I just received the following e-mail from Yessica:

Hello Ms. : I hope you are doing great. You are right, we are no longer accepting external suppliers in the property, as you know we have our own photo shop and their work is highly recommended as well. Once again, I apologize for the inconveniences, but this is a corporative decision and there is nothing I can do about it. I remain at your services, Have a great weekend. Prices are subjet to change

Does anyone else think that this is absolutely ridiculous?? I think that if you have already booked your wedding date then you should still be allowed to bring your own photographer! This new rule should only apply to new bookings! I've already paid my photographer a $500 non-refundable deposit so I hope the resort will cover this!!

I agree! This is so ridiculous!

If it hadn't been for US emailing them we wouldn't have known.

Maybe we can appeal to whoever makes these rules to have it apply only to those who booked after the rule change.

Sorry to hear about your deposit Raq....this is so upsetting!

That is ridiculous! I also booked with Michael Weiler and have no interest in using the resort photographer. It is unfair and totally unprofessional of the resort to make us lose our deposits for a decision they made. We should be grandfathered in to this new "corporate" rule. Ugh!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
