My wedding is 2/4/11 and I have yet to hear from a WC. I've been communicating with DPC via our travel agent, and nothing is getting done. I requested the Bordeaux terrace for the reception and didn't hear back for a month. Am I the only one who thinks this is a little ridiculous?

My wedding is 17/2/11 and I haven't heard from my wedding coordinator either I've sent a couple emails to her in the last week or two and haven't heard anything back yet.  I'm not super worried because I know you handle everything once you get there. They are very very busy ladies so I wouldn't worry to much

Hey Ladies,

I am kind of surprised you haven't been receiving replies for the WC. Since our date was confirmed back in July, when ever I've emailed them they usually get back to me within the week. That said, once I knew I had my ceremony and reception location confirmed there really isn't too much else for me to arrange until I'm there and I know exactly how many people are coming with us.

My only advice is to keep emailing them and they will get back to you.

Anyways...I need to help with choosing our meal. We have the gold menu and can also choose from the Silver. Can you guys give me some reviews on the food. We were thinking either the beef medalions with shrimp from the gold menu or beef tenderlion- silver or chicken cordon bleu. anyone had any of these???

I can't recall which buffet menu we chose - we had chicken cordon blue and salmon, there was also a flank steak on the menu and we requested that it be substituted for the beef tenderloin which they did at no additional cost.  From what I heard - the chicken and beef tenderloin was very good.  I had the salmon which was good...but couldn't fit anymore food into my stomach, so I didn't try the other meat.

I did a bonfire the night before the wedding with all of our guests instead of the traditional rehersal dinner.  It was awesome - we got it for two hours at night, it was on the beach and we had a full bar service.  It was a great, relaxing evening!!

I did this instead of getting a DJ.  It was perfect.  I spend a long time making my own playlist for the reception and separate playlists for the wedding party etc.  It worked awesome and the WC and MC did it all for me.  It was a huge savings as opposed to getting a DJ and allowed us to splurge on some other things.  I was told that our music could be heard half way down the resort....

Just to let all upcoming brides know, Deyanira is pregnant and her due date is the end of February, beginning of March 2011.  She was my WC last November and told me her due date!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
