Well ladies I know I'm not of the forum very often but we are finally in the home stretch I believe it is 41 days away.  I have everything sorted except MUSIC.  I have no idea what to do about the music situation.  I was hoping to just download it all but all the free download sites seem to have disappeared and I don't feel like paying 80 + dollars in downloading all the tunes I was hoping to have.  What have you ladies down with regards to music ??

Is it too late to hire a DJ, either the resort one or maybe DJ Mannia? Have you tried Cabos (for MAC) or Limewire? I don't think those are down....But if you end up having to download, $80 is not a whole lot, considering a DJ would've cost much more.

I saw a similar question in another post but I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the total cost of everything was for their wedding? I'm pretty much set on Dreams Punta Cana but I'd like to know what I'll be realistically spending so that I can budget accordingly. I've seen the prices on the site, but I'd just like to know a real total of the cost. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Good Morning Brides!

I am getting married on April 1, 2011 (less than 3 months away) and I have just found this forum and I am so excited!  It has already answered so many of my questions and I look forward to learning a lot more in the next couple of months. I  had a few questions if any of you can answer them that would be great!

1.)  Has anyone had their make-up done in the salon?  If so, how did it turn out??

2.)  Did they print menus for your guests or is that something we need to bring with us?

3.)  Has anyone requested cupcakes instead of the traditional wedding cake and if so how much extra were they?

4.)  Has anyone ever used a photography company by the name of HDC?  If so, do you have any photos I can view?  I have been in contact with the owner/manager and he seems pretty good, but it would be great to see what he has shot at Dreams.

Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated!  I am getting super excited but also a bit anxious :0)

Thanks!

Past brides: Did you get your hair/make-up done at the spa? How did you like it?

I'm getting really nervous about this. I have super long hair, like to my waist and hair is kinda a big deal to me lol!

What about make-up? I'm thinking about getting lessons before I go and buying some super good quality make up for the wedding but is it worth it?

Anyways, I'm just stressing, any info would be wonderful to ease my nerves lol

I got my hair done at the Salon and they did a great job with my hair and bridesmaids as well as my nieces that went to get their hair done.  Bring some photos of something that you want and they will be able to mimic is fairly well.  Actually, I got a hair trial done before leaving and had a ton of pictures and my hair turned out better than when the trial was done.

My sister did my make-up as she is really good at it.  We decided to do our own. I wasn't sure what I was going to look like if I got it done at the salon and we all wanted to stay somewhat natural looking since we were getting married at the beach - it worked out well for us and I got awesome pics of us getting ready.

Morgan,

I looked into having HDC as my photog as well but I chose Michael Weiler because his portfolio was much more in tune with what I wanted.  The prices for HDC and Michael Weiler are were similiar.  I really enjoyed working with Michael (his brother is the photog) and everyone who has looked at the pictures LOVES them!

Here are the pics from my wedding last month:

Your pictures look great!  I will  look into him.  What time did you have your wedding and photo session?  I noticed the sun setting in some of them...I am getting married at 6 PM and am wondering if I should have the photo session before or after my ceremony.  I looked online and it looks like the sun doesn't go down until 7 but wanted to see what you thought.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
