Thanks Lil for the update on how your wedding went! Congrats on your wedding too. It sounds identical to mine that I am planning! I am getting marie din the gazebo, but am very concerned that the aisle won't be wide enough for both my parents to walk me down.....so I'm trying to figure out what to do about that. Also, I too am concerned about the pillars being in peoples way to see us!

After that, we will be heading to the himitsu terrace for the cocktail hour, thanks on the advice to upgrade, I think we are going to do the same. We also hired Michael Weiler for our photographer, i had only heard rave reviews on him! SO very excited to hear more good stories! We also hired DJ Mannia as they too got rave reviews, I'm glad it went well with them, I will make sure about the time though since we are also going to have a reception from 7-11, so I want to make sure he plays for that long and not before as we will be using the trio band for the cocktail hour.

I can't wait to see the photos from your wedding! It would be great to see how everything was set up since I have only seen the terrace empty or with only the tables set up, but never the full set up with DJ, and guests and bar!

Congrats again and thanks for easing my mind with your great experience!

Michael Weiler was amazing and everyone is raving about the pictures I put on Facebook thus far.  I will upload tonight (I narrowed them down last night but got pretty tired so I went to sleep).

The pillars kind of are in the way but you and the groom will be in the center so I would say the majority of people will be able to see you.

The walkway will not be able to handle 3 people across walking up the aisle.  Maybe if you have 2 seats on one side and 1 seat on the other side of the aisle that may work but it's not a wide aisle by any means.  How many guests do you plan on having?

Thanks Lil! Well, we are expecting from 45-50 guests. I guess we could do the seat thing, or maybe have the seats added after I walk down the aisle? I don't know. But I did decide to have the wedding party stand inside the gazebo with me and that right there is 10 people....How frustrating, maybe Deyanira will have a good suggestion....but if anything else comes into mind for "suggestions" from the brides, I will gladly accept them!  =)

Is Michael Weiler based out of Punta Cana or do you have to fly him out there? Also, what do his package prices look like? I've heard a lot of great things about Huellas Del Caribe but after seeing some of Michael's work, I'm leaning towards booking him.. I'm just a bit afraid of what it will cost us..Any help will be appreciated :)

I wanted to know if still have the list of the music you gave the dj to play, the fast songs.

I have to do the same and thought I d check out ur list since u said everyone of ur guests were up dancing.

you can email me at alykay24@hotmail.com.

I would love to see ur photos on facebook as well.

were the fountains in the gazebo turned on when u had ur ceremony?

I am having the priest at my wedding as well and hoping its not too hot for our guests as the catholic ceremony is long

the the priest speak english clearly? i heard he's canadian from quebec so he might have had a french accent, as long as he is understandable : )

Im not hiring a photographer but Im thinking twice about that coz i know how important photos are.

How much did you pay extra for the premium bar liquor choice?

We had 37 people, with 7 of us standing in the gazebo.  So there were people in the chairs you can see in the picture, but there were also seats you cant see in a half circle around the gazebo for our closest family (parents, grandma).  You could put the people there that you would definitely want to be able to see and hear.

And I just realized the fountains were on, something I didn't notice at all that day.

Tink - I sent you a PM and Michael Weiler is based out of Punta Cana.  Everyone adores the pictures and my co-worker, who is brutally honest, said that she has never seen wedding pictures as fantastic as the ones Michael took (she is 65 so she's been to quite a few weddings).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
