Hey ladies,

has anyone had the mushroom soup for the gold package?

or the caribean seafood soup?

also do you know if they include the  white table cloths or do you have to pay extra for it?

and do the table cloths reach the floor or are they half way only?

There was white linens on our tables - I did not ask, it was just there.  I did bring with me table runners rather than using one solid coloured table cloth.  I did coloured sashes around the chair backs in the same colour.  I think there is a cost - believe it or not - $3 a chair....I think.  I don't think they go to the floor.

Just have a question about the capacity at the Bordeaux terrace... in the wedding guide it says 40 people max capacity, but then Yessica told me it was 50? Just wondering what you girls have been told who did book or are booking that terrace?

Thanks!

I am not certain about the Bordeaux terrace.  We had 43 in our group and we used the Himitsu Terrace and it was perfect.

We had ours at the Bordeaux last week and we had a group of 37... but because of weather it was moved to inside (luckily the restaurant was closed that day.)  We would have all fit but it would there would have been no extra room, like if you had a dj or wanted to dance.  The terrace is big but it gets sectioned off.  And actually I liked it better that the reception was inside.  It's beautiful and there are windows everywhere so you still get the view but without the wind.  Plus people still got to use the terrace to smoke their cigars or just get some air.

So either way you could fit 5 tables but you'd have more room inside than out.  But Bordeaux is in a way better location than Himitsu, so I'd try to get it there if you could.

Hey Lyndsay,

Congratulations!

Welcome back from your wedding. Hope you had a wonderful time!

With the exception of the weather, did everything else go 'somewhat' according to plan? How was the resort? Did your guests have a good time?

Any insights you could share would be great!

Thanks Girls! Congratulations Lyndsay! I would also love to hear how things worked with regards to what happens when you get to the resort/planning the wedding.

We have 36 including us booked right now, but with two more months there still could be some last minute people so I wasn't sure if it was better to go with another terrace. We are booked at El Patio right now because I thought the capacity at Bordeaux was 40, and I figured we might go over that, but I would prefer to be at Bordeaux instead of El Patio.

Hi girls! we are getting marry today at dreams but as I woke up so early I decided to say hi to all of you!!!! the resort it is wonderful and we are having a great time!!!!!

Oh drbride83 book the Bordeaux terrace, by the way, it will be called PORTOFINO TERRACE from now on as they changed the restaurant concept from french to italian.

El Patio terrace it is HORRIBLE. It is located on the side of the mexican restaurant with a view of explorers club (children's area) as well as the side wall of the resort. I think that I would not do a recception in that area at all. The portofino terrace it is beautiful and our wedding it is schedule in there, it is raining right now so we will probably be moved to the inside just in case.

The himit. terrace it is perfect for those with more than 50 people.

Ok, time to have breakfast and get ready!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
