Dreams Punta Cana Brides

Recommended Posts

My bridesmaid and I both had our hair done there, and both of our styles looked amazing, and very very close to what we picked out!  My bridesmaid was more intricate, she had a french braid down behind her ear and then it was curled and stuff, mine was mostly a poof in front with all the curls piled in the back... I STRESSED about my hair before I went, but when I got there it just didn't matter as much anymore! :)

HI Jenny,

It was our WC that confirmed the availability of the judge, since that was actually the determining factor for setting our wedding date and time.

I think it probably took about a 1.5 weeks for us to receive the confirmation. I was starting to get a bit worried, so I actually called them at the resort.

Hope this helps.

Jenn

Does anyone happen to have email addresses for the front office manager or director of rooms? We are arriving to DPC next week. My fiance works in the hotel industry and wanted to contact them prior to arrival to set some things up.

Also a bride who recently got married at DPC posted a ton of pictures on the Dreams Punta Cana Brides Facebook page. She has pictures of her ceremony at the Gazebo,  professional beach shots and of her reception on the Himitsu Terrace.

I didn't do a review... I know shame on me! sad.gif I just never got around to it... If you are looking for any type of pictures in particular PM me and I will send some your way! rolleyes.gif  As far as my hair, I could describe both of them and I'm sure there aren't two girls who do hair who look the same as them!  PS: The spa does AMAZING work for pedicures/manicures... one of the girls in there did my french manicure on my toes the day before leaving, and she did it FREEHAND, no tracing, nothing and it stayed on for so long, longer than any pedicure I've had in Canada!

Hi Jenny, when we were going to do the civil ceremony, it took about 3 weeks, and of course I was freaking out lol but the WC really will get back to you as soon as she knows :) Rest assured!

I see someone posted the email for the concierge... the head of concierge's name is Aida Cabrera (it was in June anyway!) and she is AMAZING to deal with... we arranged to have a cake, champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, a banner and balloons in my MOH's room (a small fee for the champagne and chocolates of course), and she had it DONE :)  I should add that we arrived at midnight, and it was all in there before she got there, fresh and the champagne was cold!  AMAZING!

I cannot believe I am 30 days away (24 days until we arrive there)!  Eeeek!!!  My bachelorette party is this weekend and I cannot wait!  We are pretty much done except for printing out the programs (the programs are complete just have yet to hit print) and printing out the individual table cards for our guests.  A few more people who responded "no" are now coming so our count is slowly creeping up!

We booked through Costco Travel (I know, I was shocked they had the lowest price at the time) and recently decided to upgrade to Privileged and it was $2,200.  I said no thank you and e-mailed Dreams and it is $60 a night.  I cannot believe Costco wanted $2,200.  I was shocked!

I am unloading some things on one bridesmaids to bring down since she has silver status with the airline and her checked bags are free!  My FH and I are just bringing down our wedding day apparel and OOT bag items -- everything else is being brought down by the parents or the one bridesmaid.  My mom went to Salvation Army and purchased a carry-on luggage piece for $5 so she is just going to give it to someone down there or toss it!  After our Punta Cana trip we fly straight to Saint Martin on a private plane so our luggage limit is very very low.  Luckily our two luggage sets fit into each other so we are likely to be traveling with just two carry-on sized pieces or one larger piece (and sending what we do not need home to the US) -- I guess all I need are swimsuits and dresses though!

Does anyone know how strict the resort is with the dress code?  My brother-in-law called me yesterday and asked if nice sandals are allowed or does he need to bring closed-toe shoes.

Alright, I guess that is my update for now.  I originally planned to have my planning journal completed before I leave but I do not think that I will have time to take pictures of everything since some things are at my parent's house 2 hours away.

Almost there!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
