Hey ladies!

I haven't posted in here forever, but I see there are a bunch of new brides!! yay!!  I was married in July, for anyone who doesn't know, and we had our reception off of the resort on a catamaran style boat called "La Barcaza"... it was AMAZING and everyone at our wedding still talks about how unreal it was.  If anyone wants any info about it I have A LOT... haha

For those who can fit their party on the Bordeaux terrace, it is BEAUTIFUL :)  We went to eat there 4 times in our 2 weeks, and one night everyone sat on the terrace and had drinks.  Gorgeous!  The Himitsu is also pretty, and would be better if you are planning to do the whole dancing thing and you have a lot of people.  It has a great view of the gazebo and the grounds, but just be aware that people coming in and out of the Japanese/Chinese restaurant can see everything thats going on during your reception.  At the Bordeaux I noticed they put up this kind of palm tree looking wall between the edge of the terrace and the stairs other people use for the restaurant, so it makes it a little more intimate.  Any way you shake it, you will have a FABULOUS time!  I miss it, I wish I could go back!

Hi Everyone,

I'm getting married on January 12, 2011, and can't wait!

I have a few questions and I wonder if anyone can help...for those of you who have already been married there.

We have specific music that we have picked out for our beach wedding.  So prelude/processional and recessional, as well as music to play well the guests are seated....after the recessional.  We will have this all on our ipod.  Do they have speakers on the beach to do this?  If so, who plays the songs on the ipod for you??

After the ceremony, do they hand out champagne immediately for all the guests?

Also, for the reception, we have the himitsu terrace booked (we wanted the bordeax but had too many ppl sad.gif ).  We plan on having all the music preset up on our ipod, and would like to have a dance after the dinner.  Is there a dance floor on the terrace?  Also, do you have to rent the speakers at an extra charge?  Is there a microphone available for the m.c?smile41.gif

Any help you ladies can provide would be great!!!

I am getting married at DPC in 26 days.  Following the ceremony we are having a cocktail hour - this includes a bar and champagne if you like.  I am not certain if Champagne is included in the bar.  We are planning to be with our guests for part of the cocktail hour, then leave for photos.  We are having a dinner/reception at 6pm at the Himitsu terrace as well.  You won't need to get a dance floor (there is a dancefloor you can rent - but I think this is mainly used on the beach.  My WC told me there would be room for dancing.  I am also bringing my own music list as well for the reception and dance bringing my ipod.  There is a music system that you can rent, and I am pretty certain it comes with a microphone.  I was told that I can hook up my ipod, actually that the ipod would work best.  We will be relying on our MC to work the music, however, once he turns the playlist on that I made, he will be able to walk away.

We have decided to use the Carribean Trio for the ceremony, so I can't really help with that part.

I believe that you can create whatever you want for your wedding and reception - you just need to tell your WC what you want and when, but there is a cost for everything.  My WC has accomodated all of my requests so far and has been fantastic at answering my questions.

I hope this helps...I can post more after I get back!!!

Carol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
