Actually I have a correction to make. Floral centerpieces are $90 each. The centerpieces pictured in the pictures with the table linens are $65 each.

Are any of you girls using ipod music for the ceremony? If so what songs are you using? I need suggestions. We wanted to use the Caribbean Trio for both our ceremony and cocktail hour but they are trying to charge us an extra $250 for the ceremony which is stupid because it will be about 20 minutes long.

I wanted to use the Caribbean Trio for the ceremony as well as for the dinner...I was hoping to get around the entire $250 charge for the ceremony once I got there.  Of all the plans I have tried to make, music for the ceremony wasn't one of them, because I wanted to Trio.  I don't have much time left!!!  If I find/think of anything, I will pass it along!!

Ya I think I am going to have music ready on my ipod but try and negotiate the Trio for the ceremony. We also may just suck it up and pay the extra $250. We chose the Ultimate Wedding Package because it offered so much but the closer it gets to the wedding the more stuff I need to add on. It's such BS!

I may be sucking up the cost of the trio too....I have my heart set on having that in the ceremony.  We didn't get a package and got the one that was included and added on what we wanted.  We have a group of 43 people, so I found that the packages didn't suit us that well and I didn't think that I would use all of the things that were included.  I figured I am saving money on some things, that I can splurge with the trio.

Hey everyone!  It has been ages since I have written anything because I have been swamped with tax season.  October 15th was deadline day -- so I am back to the forums!

Things are going pretty smoothly right now.  We have our final count and finished the seating chart.  I just need to print out the programs, pre-travel brochures and place cards (but our printer ink ran out last night, of course!).  We had a small snag in the plans -- my FH took a different position in his company and is currently in the Middle East until Nov 22nd (we leave for PC on Nov 28th).  Good thing we had everything pretty much done except for the wedding rings.  We scrambled to get them and it ended up working out okay -- we adore our jeweler.

Hm, what else?  We send everything down to the priest in the DR a few weeks ago and we are waiting to get the word if we are "cleared" -- meaning all of the paperwork is in order.

My mom had a "dinner" for me (I hate showers) at a BYOB place and before the appetizers arrived we had to call my dad and brother to bring alcohol reinforcements.  Needless to say, my cousins and aunts now want to come to my bachelorette party because they know it will be a blast since the "dinner" was so much fun.  I cannot wait -- only 2.5 more weeks until my bachelorette party!

I am going to start working on my planning thread soon.  Now that tax season is officially over until next year I have so much free time so I will be more active on the forums now.

40 more days until I am soaking up the sun...

Welcome Back Sarah! I'm glad everything is going well for your wedding planning!

Soon we'll be relaxing in DR! I can't believe is happening so soon!

In the end, with how many people did you end up having for your wedding? Everything is set with the resort? Carolina sent me the checklist last week and it took us forever to fill all the answers to her questions! It was kind of a wake up call when she is like "Eliana as your wedding date is soon please fill the form attached", I was like oh mannn is coming so fast! lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
