Thanks for the info Jenn!

If we book 7 nights of more the basic package is still included right?

Yup, as long as you book 7 nights or more in the honeymoon suite, the basic package is still included.

To the previous brides who used the La Barcarza(sp?) boat for their reception: My future-in-laws are possibly planning our rehearsal dinner on that because the resort cannot guarantee a location. Is it safe for children? We have a 2yr, 4yr, 6yr and 8yr old in our group. Also, what happens if it rains?? Any information is appreciated! Thanks!!!

7 weeks from today I will be arriving at the resort!! WOO HOOO!!!!!!

We're having a lunch tour on La Barcaza as a gift for our group and when we asked about bad weather they said "have protection in the first floor in case of rain, but if the weather that day is very bad, we need to move the tour for the following day..."

I haven't actually been on the boat to know but we have 5 kids going so I hope it's safe!

Hi Jackie,

It seemed safe for kids, but you can check ask Erin or Nat as both of them had their receptions at the Barcaza.

Hi Eliana,

Thanks for the feedback, I think it looks pretty safe too. I just talked to my best friend who has the 2yr old and 4yr old and she said she is totally comfortable taking the kids on a boat. Plus our contact for the boat company said they have life jackets available for everyone on the boat.

Our wedding date is November 13th! We are going to be there the 10th - the 17th so unfortunately I will miss you by a week. We just booked our legal ceremony for November 5th! Does this mean I can get 2 anniverary gifts a year!? :)

Hi y'all,

Has anyone had a beach reception and have any photos?  The ones the wedding coordinator sent me were kind of basic.  I'm wondering how it could be spruced up, and also how the lighting, wind is at the time?  On one hand it might be a bit more unique from the terrace especially since it's a destination wedding, but only if we could set it up as desired.  Also the dance floor is probably a must?

Thanks

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
