MISTY CONGRATS ON YOUR LEGAL DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know you will have an amazing experience once you get to DR, and yes, do not wait for the coordinator anymore and copy the GM, Sales director, etc, whoever you need to copy on your emails to make sure you get from her what you need.

Hi Jenn, regarding the dinners/events that we have planned for the week, we are still trying to figure that out, but so far, we have a "Welcome Cocktails" schedule for November 29th at 7PM as all of our guests will be there on that day, some of them arrive before that, but we felt that two nights before the wedding would be nice to get everyone together for cocktails (we might add a bonfire with a bar, depending on the final number of guests and our budget). The second event we have schedule is called: "Nenes por un lado, Nenas por el otro, Fiesta!" Translated it means girls on one side and boys on the other party! I hope it makes sense, but basically on November 30th we will have the group split between women and men. Both groups will have dinner in separate restaurants and possibly get together at the club after. Basically what we wanted to do was for me to spend time with all of the girls and my FI to spend time with his guys. By the way, all optional, we are not making anyone have to be part of this if they don't want to. The last thing we have schedule so far are "Farewell Cocktails" the night after our wedding as most guests will be departing on 12/3. SO... things might change from now until them, but this is what we have so far... Hope it helps!

Sarah... any update on your situation????

Hi Jenn,

We are having a welcome dinner the night before our wedding and we are going to have it on the beach. The cost is going to come out to like $45 per person for 3 hours of open bar and buffet style food since they have to hire people to cook and bring out cocktails.... but i think if you show up at a restaurant when it opens you should be be able to get a group sat down together or close to each other.

Thanks,

Ska Ska

Thanks for the ideas ladies! I wanted to have some sort of dinner planned but our budget isnt allowing for paying for an actual dinner. So I hopefully we can have everyone meet up at a restaurant and have a public dinner and call it a "rehearsal dinner" like Nat did. Eliana your party sounds fun! thats a great idea!

Eliana - Yes, everything is ironed out.  If we have under 100 guests (we are thinking 98 are coming) then Himitsu for cocktail hour/dinner.  If over 100 then cocktail on Himitsu and dinner in Ballroom.  We'll see.  We are hoping to send out the invites by the weekend with a September 30th RSVP date.

Misty - Congrats on your legal day!  I am sure everything with work out with Yessica when you arrive.  Let us know if you can swing getting any "freebies" since I definitely want to try to do that!!!  Free is always better :)

Hi ladies!!

I'm so excited to start planning my wedding!  I'm pretty sure we have landed on our Indian DW to be at Dreams, but still debating on Punta Cana vs La Romana vs Palm Beach.

I like Punta Cana because it seems to have more "extras" than the other two resorts which would give us more options.  It also seems to have a lot of terraces to choose from, but with 150 guests are we going to be limited to the ballroom for our reception dinner?

Any advice on why you picked Punta Cana versus the others?  We definitely want options so we can have the wedding in one place, cocktail hour in another, and reception dinner in another... and preferably outdoors as much as possible.

Thanks!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
