Amazing...you girls are great!

Actually, right after I posted that..I recieved an email back with the confirmation number and deposit forms. Definetly great advice to keep all my correspondence..ill have to start a file for all my "wedding emails"!!

We had requested a civil ceremony, but I was told that the judge wont arrive until 6:30pm, so we can just sign the paperwork then...Is anyone else doing this? Does this mean the wedding co-ordinator performs the ceremony?

What package did people decide to go with? I was thinking of doing the ultimate, but there are a few things in there I dont think are necessary. However we definitely want a private dinner and reception, so maybe the ultimate is the best way to go? Also...does anyone know where the cocktail hour takes place?

Ok theres my 20 questions for tonight...I'm sure I'll have a MILLION more LOL !!!

sarah.. my opinion, just based on being there, is that the resort photogs take great pictures, they are very pretty and colorful, but they are extremely difficult, if not impossible, it negotiate with. you will get exactly what comes in your package and nothing else. nor do they really process the pictures or edit them after they are taken, besides maybe switching between b&w and color.

it completely depends on the experience you want and your budget. either way, you will get beautiful pictures!

Hi Jamie! Congrats on your engagement!!!!!

What type of information are you looking forhuh.gif? I'm sure all of us here agree that Dreams Punta Cana has great wedding locations (gazebo, beach, terraces) compared to Dreams Palm Beach (there you can only have the reception at the beach or ballroom, no terraces!). The prices are very similiar (the same I think), but I'm not really sure what you are looking for...

We choose dreams punta cana, as we loved the information we found about the resort, their prices match our budget for the wedding as well as our guests budget for the trip (we didn't want ppl. to have to spend more than $100-$1200 per person for 7 nights). So that's an idea for you as of why we decided on DPC. Just post your questions and we'll be more than happy to help! Once again, CONGRATS!

Thanks Ebredhawk - I may just use the resort photographer then...although I don't really know if 50 color photos is alot? How many did you get with your photographer? Do you know if they offer you a CD with your photos on it with the ultimate package?

I'm going with the Ultimate package and will be getting married at 4pm as well. The WC will perform the ceremony and the priest will arrive later to sign paperwork.

The pictures they take a beautiful, they take pictures of the ceremony and the couple afterwards while ur guests do a cocktail hour. But they dont stick around for the reception. They do give you a CD and also a video which they edit with music and such. My sister said when she got home from their honeymoon the video was already mailed to them at their house so it was nice to come home and relive their ceremony! From everything i have from my sisters wedding, im more than happy to use their photographer!

Sorry NATASHA! hahaha ill just call u Nat so I dont get confused again!

the whole photographer thing is definitely a matter of personal preference and budget. pictures are something we really place a lot of importance on so we made extra room in our budget to fly someone down with us. we'll get a cd of all of the pictures she took and she was there for the whole she-bang.

if your budget is limited or you like the resort photog's look, then absolutely go with them. just make sure you go in knowing the information that jennifer shared above about them not being around for the reception. they definitely take good pictures though. they are always super bright and vibrant.

Oops accidentally hit enter by accident! Anyway I am getting married at Dreams Punta Cana on November 13, 2010!!! Wooo Hooo we can't wait!!! We are also doing the Ultimate Wedding Package. I am curious about the reasons why people are choosing the wedding gazebo over the beach. I am 100% set on doing the beach ceremony but a lot of reviews I have read recommend the gazebo. I thought the one of the points of a destination wedding was to walk barefoot in the sand! Any advice is appreciated. My WC is Carolina any reviews on her would be great too!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
