Toya, love, love, love the dress. It will look amazing on you! My sister wore a similar looking one made by Bari Jay but in black... loved it too!

Thank you very much. We are still looking at a few other resorts, but really like this one. The travel agents in town said we will not be able to get pricing for March 2011 until the summer. So we will not be making any decisions obviously until then. I will look into the gold package, but it bugs me that I would have to pay for a dinner and booze when we already paid for the all inclusive. I do understand paying extra for the space and service though.

Also, does anyone have the list of what is included in the silver/gold/platinum dinner packages?? I can not seem to find it anywhere, Clay.

The free wedding package does NOT include a dinner, and the cost for the gold dinner is $800 for up to 20 people. I think in theory you could do a semi-private reception, but if I am not mistaken (help me out here ladies) they cannot guarantee that they will be able to seat all 15 of you together at one table.

Have you thought about La Barcaza? It's a kind of catamaran/yacht hybrid sort of thing, and is not much more ($200 or $300 I think) than the traditional style reception at the resort. It includes a boat cruise, a buffet dinner for 20 people, and is much more unique! This is what I opted to do instead of the traditional reception, since my numbers are low. Now, if i had Toya's numbers it would be a different story! haha

Happy Planning, and feel free to ask us all the questions you like! :)

I am still undecided about the other dress, bc it is also unaltered, new worn, and still in the bridal salon with the tags on it until I scheduled to go in for alterations. So I am trying to decide what the hell to do now.

And sorry for the absence ladies, this last few weeks have been crazy!!

Lol, you guys are TOO funny with your double dress dilemas. Must be something in the air. Hope it all works out in the end for you guys. Gotta just go with your gut! No matter how many dresses it takes.

Misty, are you gonna leave the adjustable strap on or take it off? The dress is gorgeous. I personally really like it WITH the strap. :)

I'm still deciding, I think I am going to walk down without it and then add it for the reception or vice versa, lol! But the seamstress in the shop also told me she could attach it to the front where the other flowers are to give it more "UMPH" right there as she calls it, so I don't know. I really like the dress both ways though.

I asked Deyanira the same thing and she said no, that it was already included in their pricing.

Is anyone using the resorts photog or dj? I think I may actually use both. Hope nothing goes wrong as I haven't seen any reviews for them. I'm assuming that they are reputable since the resort uses them on a daily basis.

Thank you very much.... looks like we would probably go with the gold dinner option simply so that we could have our own private area. That would go great with the free wedding package I guess, and we could just add more stuff on top of that. I do not think the cocktail hour will be worthwhile for us. Everyone can just go to a bar as we are getting some pictures done and then meet at dinner. Is there a place at the resort we could all go afterwards to dance and party?? I did not seem to notice a disco or night club on site?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
