any ideas or suggestions....

I'm having my reception on the Himitsu terrace but when I was trying to narrow down my choice, I too thought that lanterns would be a great touch overhead. I think it would create great romantic lighting and with the gorgeous night sky right above. uh, goosebumps! lol. I say go for it, sounds like a great idea. And hang them at different heights to create depth :) just my 2 cents.

I think that if you are having a ceremony on the beach this idea won't work because of the wind. However, at the gazebo it should not be a problem at all! I'm going to have the WC do it (I think I will use the design on red from the pics as it looks the easier) and I will also have my sister check on this. My sister it is great with things like this and she loves to help! lucky me! lol so, between the two of them I'm pretty sure it will look great. BUT like I said, I'm a WC soooo I always have a back up plan READY to GO! LOL LOL LOL so the design doesn't hold I will have them simply fill the entire aisle with the petals rather than having the design...

I'm also having Paper Parasols/Umbrellas and hand fans for the guests at the ceremony. I found a great website with the laterns, parasoles and fans that I wanted with sooo many choices of colors!!!!! Planning it is great! I love it!!!! lol !!!!!!!!!!

Jocy, thank you so much for posting your photos and your very thorough review! I'm so happy that things went better than you'd hoped for, and you looked absolutely stunning in your photos! CONGRATULATIONS, MRS! :0) What did you choose for your wedding dinner?

I tried to upload the brochure that we made and mailed to our guests (it's not a welcome letter per se, but a compilation of resort information, helpful tidbits like what to pack, and the itinerary for the week as it stands now). Of course, I'm inept on this website, and my upload failed, so if anyone would like to see it, just let me know and give me your e-mail, I'd be more than happy to send it along!

In terms of a welcome vs. rehearsal dinner, we are doing a quick run through of the plan for the day with just the wedding party, so people know where they have to be, and then we were just doing a quick 1 hour cocktail hour the night before the wedding with everyone invited, but now that Jocy mentioned something about $10/person to do a dinner with a set menu on a terrace, we're wondering about that! I've never seen such a good price anywhere for an event like that at DPC?

So my wedding date is fast approaching, and I'm wondering if anyone else is getting married at DPC in April? I think Erin is the 28th, but other than that, I'm wondering if there are going to be any other BDW forum brides there while I am! :0)

Tara

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
