Hey hey!

1. I will definitely be tipping the WC, I'm just not sure how much. I guess it depends what kind of a job she does! I was assuming $150 or so, but I went to a destination wedding last year (of friends from PROSPEROUS families) and they tipped $300, plus tipping all the wait staff!

2. We ordered fake flowers through an online store. I found it through E-Bay, but it's called The Tailored Bow. I still have yet to see photos of the products, but the price was amazing! I'll also use the centerpiece included with the wedding package, as well as use the bouquet included somewhere as decor too.

3. We are definitely getting married at the gazebo, I wasn't a huge fan of the beach per se when I was there in June, and it was soooo windy, we opted for the gazebo, minus the red carpet! I'm not paying extra for decoration, but I am bringing my own tulle to loosely wrap around the front 2 pillars, and I have some hot pink and white flower petals that I will use on the aisle, once the red carpet is gone.

4. I think that is a GREAT idea for a gift! Very personal, and it's going to up your excitement so much, having all that extra extravagance! I got FI a watch that I engraved. He doesn't wear one currently, but he's constantly asking for the time!

$4/centerpiece? That is totally amazing, how did you pull that off? I believe ours are around $20 or so. We just used a plastic vase, sand, pink jewels, a couple shells, then water and floating candles. Around the outside we have white flower petals and a couple starfish, and some ribbon there too. If anyone wants to see them let me know and I will e-mail, again, I'm picture-uploading IMPAIRED! :0)

Did everyone have a good Valentine's Day? We got engaged on V-Day last year, FI took me to Mexico for the day, I can't believe it's been a year of engagement/wedding planning!

i'm trying to not get nervous about wind on the beach! everything has been done with the expectation that it will be windy.. even our videographer is getting special things to block the wind, but hopefully it won't be too much of an issue. nothing i can do to control that, thankfully!!

i finally organized all of our wedding stuff into what we're bringing with us and what we're not. i was actually surprised at how little space what we're bringing took up, considering that we have 3 tall square vases, one short, rectangle vase and 3 sand ceremony bottles!! we also are doing real touch flowers and the bridesmaids are taking theirs with them. all we'll have to bring is my bouquet, the bouts and the flowers for the centerpieces (nothing big). at least i have it all organized so when we go to pack we know just what we need to bring!

snowed in AGAIN = getting more stuff done!! surprisingly things are coming off the list faster than going on... for once!

Hello Future PC Brides!

Ok, here's my opinion on the questions Jenise posted:

1- I will tip the WC depending on how good of a job she does. Being a WC myself I know that I only expect my Brides and Grooms to tip me if I've done an outstanding job for them! simply doing a good job is not enough when you are in charge on someone's wedding, things must be ABOVE AND BEHOND the couples expectation for the WC to be TIP. especially in south/central america as I'm from Argentina I know that we don't use tips as they do in USA or Canada, so that's my answer, my WC will get tip if things are above my expectactions.

2- We are using the wedding gazebo as we are having a religious ceremony (which can't be done at the beach!) I'm not paying Dreams for any extra decorations. Instead, I've come up with an amazing and SIMPLY aisle set up with fake rose petals that I will bring for home. The aisle will have our initials at the beginning (sample pic attached) and a simply petal design (sample pic also attached) will follow all the way up to the gazebo where my future husband will wait. Ladies, this is sooo simple to dooooo, I will bring pictures with me and have the WC set it up with someone from my family's help.

3- I think the present for your FI it is amazing! he will love it and will never forget the experience!

I've also attached two sample of centerpieces that I've considered using, the great thing about both of them is that I can get all I need fresh in DR from any florist or event from the resort itself!!! Simple, romantic, on a budget and easy to put together! Pictures also attached.

I can't opent the attachment either - can you send to me at elena.wortzel@gmail.com

thanks! I also bought a ton of fake rose petals in purples and creams (some of my colors) but I wasn't sure exactly what to do with them, I was thinking maybe putting them down the aisle and maybe on the tables but not really sure. I'd love to see what you came up with!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
