Oh yes Toya...I'm LOVING the snow!! I'm a fed employee so it's free days off work for me and a honeymoon extension in my eyes. I only got back on Friday and haven't been in to work!! WA HOO!!! )

Jocy, thank you so much for posting your photos and your very thorough review! I'm so happy that things went better than you'd hoped for, and you looked absolutely stunning in your photos! CONGRATULATIONS, MRS! :0) What did you choose for your wedding dinner?

 

I tried to upload the brochure that we made and mailed to our guests (it's not a welcome letter per se, but a compilation of resort information, helpful tidbits like what to pack, and the itinerary for the week as it stands now). Of course, I'm inept on this website, and my upload failed, so if anyone would like to see it, just let me know and give me your e-mail, I'd be more than happy to send it along!

 

In terms of a welcome vs. rehearsal dinner, we are doing a quick run through of the plan for the day with just the wedding party, so people know where they have to be, and then we were just doing a quick 1 hour cocktail hour the night before the wedding with everyone invited, but now that Jocy mentioned something about $10/person to do a dinner with a set menu on a terrace, we're wondering about that! I've never seen such a good price anywhere for an event like that at DPC?

 

So my wedding date is fast approaching, and I'm wondering if anyone else is getting married at DPC in April? I think Erin is the 28th, but other than that, I'm wondering if there are going to be any other BDW forum brides there while I am! :0)

Jocy, your review is wonderful! Do you mind letting us know how you handled tipping??...I am so lost on that whole topic b/c much of the reception costs include it (to my understanding)...what about to DJ Mania, etc?

 

Also, a somewhat silly question...but, is the beer down there in bottles or cans? We were thinking about doing some sort of coozie in the OOT bags, but I didn't know which would get more use - a bottle coozie, can coozie...or a travel mug? Thoughts on that?

Autumn, we are doing a can koozie, since a lot of drinks come in cups! I know most often the beer is on tap, so that would be in a cup as well.

Thanks, Nat! It seems like I see pics with cups, bottles, etc. in them - so I just wasn't sure what was most prominent.

 

Also, Jocy...did you have to pay for that extra hour for the reception? I know DJ Mania plays for 4 hours and Dreams lets you have a 3 hour reception...so, I was curious what they charged you for that extra hour or how that all panned out.

elena, i'll be getting to DPC the day after your wedding.. are you staying much after your date?

 

i hope everyone that was/is snowed in is doing okay! the weather here just started to let up, thank goodness. although i think i got a pretty sweet upper-body workout from shovelling every 4 hours!

 

i attached our information book for you all to see too. it is really micro-managing at its finest!! several of our guests have never had an experience like this before, and i didn't want anyone to have an excuse for not knowing something or forgetting something! the books got printed last week and were the final piece to our OOT bags!
