i would recommend either bringing them with you or handing them out beforehand like tam mentioned (this is what we're doing). it costs a lot of money to ship things down there, and i don't think i'd risk it not getting through customs fast enough, or the resort not knowing what to do with it when it got there.

LOL I think we are all playing the "waiting game" for Jocy now, lol. I talked to my TA yesterday and the rates are still crazy right now for airfare, but apparently I can book my room and if that rate goes down I can get the lower rate, so we'll book when tax returns get back, lol!!!

Hi Ladies....

 

I've been checking out this thread for about a week now....took quite a while to get through!! My fiance and I got engaged about a month ago and know we absolutely want to do a DW. I've been looking into Dream Punta Cana and think it looks beautiful! We don't have a date booked yet...and waiting to hear back from the resort around which of our desired dates is actually available. I wanted to say thank you in advance for all of the great information I've found on this thread already...and for all of the inforamtion I'm sure to get from you all in the year to come :)

 

Quick question....about what % of people you invited are actually coming to the wedding? Our guest list is right around 190 right now....so I'm hoping less then 50% are actually able to make. I feel terrible saying that....but from the prices you all have listed....a 100 person private reception is going to cost a fortune!!

Hi Nicole, and welcome! I agree, when I first started researching resorts, I was so thankful for all the insider information found in these pages! :0)

 

As for your question about percentages, for us it was about 40%, we have 43 people coming, and invited around 100. Hope that helps! :0)

Hi Nicole,

Tara's % is about what we had too, Don't be worried about numbers until people start putting their deposits down... I found in the beginning that everyone said yes to coming and then once it's time to put money down, people back out... not that there's anything wrong with that! Just my experience...

Tam you are exactly right... we had so many "I'm definitely there!"s.... until it was time to show the money hahaha now we have 18 guests + us! Not that I care, but its just my example lol

 

I think Toya (lrdavis23) had about 50% respond yes, but she invited a sh!t ton of people... hahahaha

I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.
