We decided to get married here first to avoid having to get the paperwork translated into Spanish. Just seemed more convenient, and hey I might have time to change my name on license and checkcard before I get there! So we are going to have a symbolic ceremony and all of our guests will never know that we did it here first

so since i've been going crazy lately being out of town, i've had some time to think about wedding things to keep myself sane. well.. it turned dangerous the other day! the lady who is doing my flowers was asking me about some of my preferences and i mentioned that if i could do it all over again i'd change my colors to be just super bright, tropical ones. WELL, she got all excited so we've decided to change up the flowers!

i was originally basing everything off of the colors in a stargazer lily, but now we're adding greens, yellows and oranges and i can't wait! my chair sashes and flower girl dresses are pink, but we're going to keep some of the pink theme so it still ties together. with all different types of flowers i'll be able to make each centerpiece with a different flower in it and have each of the guys have a different flower for their bout. definitely fun to have a new project to think about!!

Thats exciting about the wedding colors... I'm starting to integrate other colors into my aqua/orange theme too! have lots of blue shades, some browns, greens... and my weding pearls are a pastel pink color (gift from my aunt) and my pendant will match... love it!

Loving the flower decisions Erin, especially the guys bouts all being different flowers!! Very cool!!

 

Fi and I spent the whole weekend wondering why we didn't leave for Dreams on Sat to give ourselves a few days to get organized before guests started arriving. We're kicking ourselves! Especially since we both had yesterday off work anyway. Sigh..oh well. We leave tomorrow at 4:30am and it can't come soon enough!!

 

I haven't seen my two best friends (that i lived with for 4 years in Uni) for over a year (we all live in different countries now) and i haven't seen any of my family in 6 months (they're all in Scotland) and i think i might just burst at the thought of seeing them all tomorrow!! With the added bonus of it being on a tropical island with a free bar. I haven't been able to sleep all weekend I'm so blooming excited.

 

Oh yes and i picked up my dress yesterday!!! They did such a great job of stuffing the inside so it looks like i have a body hanging up in my living room! I have no idea how we're going to maneuver this thing around the airport - it's absolutely HUGE!! If i stand with my arm fully extended it on just doesn't reach the ground! Thankfully we're traveling with a friend who's 6ft6. He might just come in very handy!! hee hee

 

I just want to leave now!!

 

Plus i keep thinking - Tam's wedding is tomorrow!!

Jocy! I meant to tell you that I met with the Travel Agency that you are working with. (I say them on your website) and I told them you referred me. The woman's name is Nancy Converse and she was great and I am sure we will be working with them as well. The one we were using were coming back with ridiculous pricing so I just wanted to let you know. Hopefully they will throw in something free for you for sending them a referral!!!!

Pynklemonade - that's fantastic that you're using Quality Travel!! Honestly i cannot say enough good things about them!! We booked our accommodation (wedding and honeymoon) in May 09 and when the prices dropped in Nov 09 the were able to negociate and get us the lower prices!! They've also requested room upgrades for us at both resorts...fingers crossed on that one!! They've truly been my life saver in this whole process!!

i'll be interested to here how you get your dress down there, jocy! i've been thinking about that myself lately! brides do it all the time, so it can't be that difficult, right??

That makes me feel so much better to know that you had a good experience with them. She gave me a brochure for Dreams too and really went over the costs and how we should wait since they are still in the winter sale and how the summer sale is so much better. So I know all of that will come together soon, since I only have 7 months to go. Thanks again and can't wait to see you and Tam's pictures and read your reviews!!
