I decided that I should probably start looking at wedding dresses in the near future - scary thought! I don't want to spend thousands on a dress and am going to try to stick to everyones advice about not looking at the dresses that are out of my price range. With that being said I know that I am going to go to David's bridal and check out what they have to offer. I also went on the knot and looked at gowns that were only one $ on their scale and a place called Group USA had a lot of styles to choose from. I looked and there is a store in Ontario which is about an 1 1/2 away from me. I called the store and they said they have the dresses in stock in a variety of sizes. All the wedding dresses in the store range in price from $250 to $700. They said they do not carry the designer labels but have similiar styles. I haven't ever heard of them before - was wondering if anyone had looked into this shop/brand before. Their web adress is Group USA: Home

Check it out and let me know what you think - I would love to know if anyone has ever been to their stores or seen their product in person.

Sarah, Ive never heard of them either but since you are within driving distance it cant hurt to go and see what its all about. You could get lucky and really like a dress that they have and VHALAA you just saved yourself some major money! I say go check it out!

I think buying dresses online is risky, but if you live somewhat nearby you should totally go check it out. I would just hate for you to spend a lot of money and then not be happy with your purchase. Maybe if you purchase something with time and then you don't like it, you will still leave yourself enough time to go buy another dress.

We have GroupUSA here, and I actually tried to make an appointment with them but they would never answer the phone - anyway, I popped in the store one day (the one here also sells business/casual/prom/ everything attire) and the gowns looked pretty nice. There were actually 2 different ones that I was going to try on but then decided that I loved the gown I picked to much. For the price, I think you get a pretty good value.

I went and checked this store out - at first I thought it was kinda strange becasue they sell normal shirts and pants for women but in the back of the store they had a bridal area - strange. All the dresses are out on the floor and you basically look for the style you like and see if they have your size. They have a dressing room and you carry them all back and start trying them on. I went alone and at first I wasn't sure how I was going to be able to get myself into the dress with out help but once they realized I was alone they were pretty helpful in getting me zipped up. The staff was friendly but some were on the young side (like 19 or 20) - it wouldn't matter if you brought someone with you whos opinion you trusted but since i was by myself I didn't have the same taste as what they liked - not a big deal.

The dresses were very nice and they had a large selection - many more than were on the website. The quality was similar to davids bridal. They do alterations there and you can buy the dress and take it home that day - you are purchasing the one you try on or they can order it and it takes 6 months. The pricing was great ranging from $200-$650.

I found a couple that I really liked but did not purchase anything that day. I want to go back with my aunt or cousin to see what they think too. Also I am not sure how much my bootcamp workouts are going to change my body over the next 6 months. Part of me says to wait for a while longer before commiting to a size and the other part says while my body will likely change it isn't going to be that big of a difference. What do you girls think I should do? Where should be the latest that I go looking for a dress to purchase for my wedding in July?

I am pretty confident that I will be able to find a dress I like at this store or David Bridal and since that is the price I comforatble with spending I am hesatent to look anywhere else for fear I will end up with a $4K dress - not in my budget!

Sorry this is so long - if you girls who are just starting to look have a Group USA store near you I think it is worth your time to check it out - you cant beat the prices!

They only have a few options, but they are fairly cheap and if you have a store near you...I would check them out. Good luck!
my dress is actually from Jessica McClintok and i love it- i tried on a bunch of different dresses there and like a lot of them and there are very reasonably priced.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
