I had assumed that she wasn't coming!! Especially since we made our 1st resort payment for our guests last Friday! (We aren't using a TA, organizing everything ourselves.)

I wasn't planning to mail invitations to people not coming to the wedding, but now I'm concerned that there could be other guests who received a STD, never responded, but plan to show up as well! I don't even know what to think about this new development!
This is a very good point! A lot of people have told me they didn't know they needed to do a preliminary RSVP off the STD (even though it stated right on the front). I realized that their are quite a few people planning on going that are waiting on the final invitation to do a formal RSVP.

It was important for us to send invitations ... but I think it's really all a very personal choice.

I'm glad there's a bunch of us still on the fence on this issue, all around the same time!! I have the invites done and I've hand delivered a dozen or so to those "yes I'm coming but haven't booked" people, because their payment is due THURSDAY if they want to be on the same plane as us.

I'll send the other ones out.... I guess...

I suppose I'm just apathetic at this point over all the 'friends' who said they were so on board but all of a sudden don't have the money to go.

So true!!! Me too girl! I just don't understand why a year's notice isn't enough time to plan ahead...

I would send them. People like to feel special and included and it's good etiquette.
