I bought mine at Pier 1. I ordered some in from other stores from last year cause they were only .50cents per stem. You don't have enough time for that, but they do have different orchids there now in yellow, white, pink or green which range in price from $2-$5 per stem w/ is much cheaper than Michaels. I saw Joann had quite a few yesterday and they are 50% off this week
Thanks sooo much! It all makes sense now. I was really stressing that I couldn't find a darn bag! Silly me. Anyways, how many stems did you buy?

I am not having huppah but I used this idea to make orchid garland. We are having tikis down our aisle and I've stringing the garland along them. I made 2 11' strands and some smaller pieces to hang from the tikis to blow in the wind. I only spaced my orchids about an inch to 2 inches apart. I bought 30 stems and only used 26. Amy had about 20 blooms per strand so just decide on how many strands you want and figure out how many blooms are on each stem (usually 7-12 blooms) and get what you need.

Make sure you get someone to help you!!! It takes a few hours, and really long if you're doing it by yourself!!

Hey girls, just one question:

I love this idea and I want to do it. But o the day of the wedding do you think the WC would want to put them up on the canopy or if we have to pay them to put the orchids up?

Also I would love to use them at my reception. Do yuo think they will help us? Otherwise I cannot really see myself running aorung to arrnge everything!

Thanks

I have totally not been able to get this idea out of my mind as totally something I want to DIY for our wedding.

I just came across a related idea as I was searching for starfish and sanddollar prices: Buy NATURAL DECORATIVE CORAL, BULK SEASHELLS, BULK STARFISH, and MORE at Saltwater Obsession

What do you think ladies? Could this work instead of flowers? Or maybe alternated with flowers? The price seems pretty good on these...

After all the hours I have spent on this forum so far, I just now found this thread. This idea is so amazing!! I definitely think I want to copy this somehow. Not sure if I'll use flowers or shells - I'm leaning towards the flowers right now. But either way I think it's beautiful!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
