with our invited guests. they don't rsvp, they refuse to contact our TA, they totally disregard deadlines, but constantly bombard us with phone calls to get general information WHICH HAS ALREADY been mailed out to the with the invitations AND POSTED ON OUR WEBSITE.

I've had over 10 people tell me that they "lost their invitation" and need the dates for our wedding again. 4 have actually asked me to mail them another set of invites. wtfhuh.gif Forget checking the "Save the date" cards, or invites, or our website for information.

I'm sorry gals. I just needed to vent for a minute. Some people were saying that they didnt even know that they had to get passports. It was in their invite package and ON OUR WEBSITE!!!! Did they even read anything! They are also asking what we want as gifts......I GAVE THEM THE DARN REGISTRY INFO.

oh and this one irks the crap out of me: "Oh, I don't need to rsvp........you know i will be there"

I paid almost $200 dollars on POSTAGE ALONE to send self-addressed, self-stamped rsvp's and what do i get in return......nada. Do i have to write their name and place the checkmark on the rsvp and mail it back to myself FOR THEM!!!

OMG!!! shots.gif bann.gif

I feel for you! I would only worry about the people you really want to be there and let everyone else fend for themselves.. you can only hold their hands so many times! If you get a call.. rather than answer, just direct them to your website. It's ridiculous!!

Do you have a friend or family member that usually organizes groups? We have a friend that always makes the camping reservations and then sends out emails to everyone to confirm.. maybe you can have someone else follow up with people? You have enough to worry about!

Future brides should take notice because for all the hours you spend agonizing over things, unfortunately this scenario is very common. You want everything to be "perfect" but no matter how hard you try.. it won't always work out the way you planned.

Let it all out!!!

I'm having the same problem with deadlines. everytime there is a deposit due or payment for airfare, i have to call everyone not once not twice but 3 to 5 times to remind, all the way up to the date it's due!!! Drives me insane. I haven't sent invites out yet just save the dates, but after reading your post, i think i'll be skipping the rsvp, i just know no one will have the common courtesy to send them back to me!!!

Girl i can definately sympathize because i have people driving me crazy about how the prices went up and they cant find a room.......clearly noted on our website that it is jamaica's independance day on our wedding week! I don't think people realize how stressing it is to receive questions and phone calls about something you have already communicated. My advice is...try to focus on the fact that it is your day and no one is going to ruin it with stupidity.....its what keeps me from cursing some people out!

as someone who leads a group of about 25 friends and family on trips every once and a while -- I can completley understand!! -- people just dont get it! - I now take the road of - "this is what we are doing, this is what time - if you want to go do this - now dont bug me again!" lol

-- I thought that it wouldnt work - but I've got all 27 people rsvp'd for a trip next week! :)

I completely understand! i had a total meltdown yesterday with our guests. At this point you only have to worry about the close friends and family you want there and forget the rest. People can't really surprise you at a DW. Just keep in contact with your TA and do the best you can.

Set a deadline with yourself for OOT bags, favors, etc. and stick to it. If people can't follow directions (screw 'em) and proceed with the info you have.

There is too much else goin on for you babysit!

(I'm not bitter...) LOL

I feel ya! RSVP woes especially! We have 20 invites which have not RSVPd yet. HONESTLY! It's Mexico! You should know DARN well if you are coming or not! It makes me SO mad that people think that just because it's a destination wedding the usual common graces don't apply!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
