Eyelash Extensions *post ALL info here*

I just bought some fake ones from my beauty suppliers and i have yet to try them. might try it out this weekend and check out mac too!

Normally fake eyelashes won't last that long (usually just the night or day you wear them but most are reusable)...not too say never but if you're going to be swimming, sleeping, using and removing makeup, etc. they will be falling off by the wedding.
Eyelash extensions however should last that long and longer.

If you want to wear falsies I would recommend your makeup artists puts them on you while they are doing your make up. Or you can learn to apply them yourself...youtube is a great resource!

I say MAC all the way. Had them for my engagement shoot as well as BD..so worth it for photos.

I want to do this too but am awful at putting them on myself. I guess I'll just have to keep practicing!!

Im not sure how much they are where you live but they are like $30 at the mall here but they take about 15 mins to put in. They are nice though and they last for 2 weeks. I was thinking about getting some myself.

Just to keep things clear...the thread is about eyelash extentions...not false eyelashes. There IS a difference so I hope nobody is getting confused!!

Thanks, Suzanne and Matt for the input from your point of view! Here's my experience and observence of both fake and extensions.

 

I was an MOH for a wedding, and the makeup artist put fake lashes on me. Unfortunately, since I was the last to get my makeup done, there was only one set of lashes left: the longest ones. She didn't trim them or anything, and put them on me. And when I looked at myself, I was like YIKES. those look too long, but the other girls said it looked fine. Saw a photo, and I HATED it. I felt like a clown. SO yes, always do a trial run before going out in public, especially if you are the center of attention. I have zero photos from that wedding experience because of my fake eyelash mishap. I will say that the other girls that had shorter lengths looked great.

 

As for eyelash extensions: the bride had those put in the week before her wedding, and they looked phenomenal -- in person and in the photos. She was kinda afraid they'd fall off the day of the wedding, but she looked good in the photos, and that's all that matters. It was hot as Heck the day of, and I didn't see any hairs fall out from the heat. It was money well spent.

 

Personally because I have not been blessed with my mom's long lashes, I will be getting extensions a couple weeks before. I'm sure most people (my FI included) wouldn't notice a difference, but I know i'll feel prettier because of it.

it seems like several threads have been connected so it's sometime a little tough to tell which type of lashes are being talked about here.

 

i will be using falsies - i definitely don't want to risk having my lashes fall out or worry about upkeep! i'm a huge fan of MAC cosmetics, so my suspicions were confirmed that their lashes would be great. i stopped by the counter last night. the gal who helped me recommended the #33s, hands down. i'm excited to try them!

 

i bought a cheap pair ($3-something at sally's beauty supply) to practice with and help get used to them a bit. but since i'm getting married in mexico and i'm a novice, i'm excited that my future sister-in-law will be there and able to help me make sure they're applied correctly!
