Good to know Leia! I am totally buying MAC eyelashes and bringing them with me, since the eyelash extensions experiment didn't go too well a few months ago.

Rach - I dont really have any advice, except the indiviudal bunches of like 3 lashes look more real then a strip of heavy lashes. Hope that makes sense.... I have only used the cheap CVS brand before though.

I agree w/ you Carly. The individual lashes look better. I wanted to get them, but Paulina from Suzane Morel said that it would take too much time to put those on for everyone. So, the strip had to do.

I agree with everone else about the MAC lashes. I just wore them for a wedding I was in a couple weeks ago. I'm scared of eyelashe extensions. A friend of mine got them and they looked really great but when they started coming out they took some of her own lashes with them so she ended up with less than she had to begin with.

.
I was thinking of getting eyelash extensions and was wondering what went wrong for you? I don't think I would be able to apply fake MAC ones myself without it looking funny.

Here is the thread that talks about it. It starts off with JulieR and how much she loved them, so I had to give'em a test run for my wedding. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t11073-2

Here is my summary at the end though.

"Ok ladies. I have bad news. I haven't worn any makeup and I have been extremely gentle while washing and drying my face. I haven't even washed my eyes trying to be careful! BUT, almost every lash on my right side is gone. Ok, not every one, but about half. I have lost a few from my left.

Day 1 - felt kinda cool, but also like a prostitute (they felt so obvious)

Day 2 - wanted to rip them off

Day 3 & 4 - they were comfortable and I thought they looked good

Day 5 - cool, but I could see that some were lose when I looked real close

Day 6 & 7 - dropping like flies

I called last Wednesday to let them know that one fell out, I got voicemail and I left my work number and my cell number. No one called me back. You are supposed to get one refill for free, but I am not sure I want to bother refilling them. They are really annoying right now, half in and half out.

Since they barely lasted 6 days, I don't think I would do this for Jamaica since I will be there 9. I am going to test out some other options though. Perhaps dyeing them or perming them. I am glad I did this and all, cuz I didn't wear makeup to the wedding, but honestly, I can apply them myself and get a day out of them as opposed to $80 and getting 5 days.

I do sleep on my sides, but I tried to be extra careful. Oh well. I am glad I tried it, but I don't think I would do it again. Unless maybe I would try a different salon. Humpf."

I am also just now getting back to my full lashes, but that probably has to do with me ripping them all out once they started to fall out...

I love me some fake eyelashes! I wear them for every special occasion. I use MAC and the tinted adhesive, I think LashPro? If you're like me and cry at every wedding, be sure the adhesive, eyeliner, and mascara are all waterproof.

I know the singles are more natural looking, but have never been able to apply them correctly myself.

I'm wearing them in the picture below, but the do look a little thick because of the editing-blurry image thing. Sorry to all of the photographers--I don't know the technical term!

I had lash extensions and don't recommend them unless you can afford the upkeep of it. Its annoying not to be able to wash your face like normal you always have to be extra careful. You would be surprised how often you want to rub your eyes.

They do look great for about 1.5 to 2 weeks then when they fall out they take your real lash too. I already have short lashes but after the extensions they were uneven. It took a really long time before they got back to normal.

I agree with the MAC lashes, if you can get someone to do it then thats best. I don't have the skills so for my wedding I would pay for it. IMO, Individual lashes would look more natural but I'm sure a pro can make the strip look good.

I can tell you that I finally give up on all of the drugstore brands, either they're too long for me and I can't cut them right or the glue wasn't strong enough or too clumpy.

Thanks girls! I didn't even know MAC did lashes. I'll try them out. I'm actually pretty good at applying lashes- at least I think I am! I wore some really obnoxiously fake ones this last Halloween and people at work asked me how I got my eyelashes so full. I was like um...you guys are idiots. But I figure I could fool the people the day of the wedding-I was just worried about the photos.

I'm horrible at applying fake eyelashes ... but my sister and I are going to MAC next week for our trials so I know what colors to buy for the wedding, so I will have them apply them for me and buy some.

I am also using Revitalash, as recommended by by hair stylist. I've been using it about a month now and don't see a difference yet, but she says after the 2-month mark I should tell a difference and by 3-months (wedding time!!) she promises I will have unbelieveable lashes. I hope so b/c it cost a lot for the Revitalash.

But I'll get the MAC ones as backup just in case. :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
