OOT... What did your guests really use?

Recommended Posts

Just got back. My guests loved the travel bags. They all appreciated the welcome booklet with wedding info. I think that is a must. Try to include photos of people attending. All the guys liked the Wal-mart Sample Travel Packs.(4.99 each) Everyone used their bag and thermal mugs. Also everyone used their sunscreen & aloe burn lotion. However, we passed out the bags before the trip. Therefore, they only brought what we bought them. If you plan on passing out the bags at you hotel or airport, I would not bother with purchasing sunscreen. They would have brought their own.

Overall, our best purchase which everyone used and some people were even trying to borrow others was the "Tide To Go" pens. Everyone had Salsa, tomato sauce or a fruity drink spilt on their clothes at some point during the vacation.

Alright... so, out of everything in our oot bags here are the things we know got used...

MUGS! Everyone used theirs and the bar tenders really enjoyed them! It was fun!

Some people used the totes, but not many actually.

Suntan lotion! turns out people forget how hot the sun was! Not to mention it's a lot nicer to carry a little travel size on around with you instead of the big tubes.

the SPF lip balm - savior to many, including myself!

Shout wipes, those came in handy

First aide kits... lots of blisters!

Germ X

Imodium AD

Beach balls, beach buckets & accessories, squirty fish, and little footballs.

That's what I saw being used. I'm sure the medications got used too... I just didn't know!

Thanks for letting us know! I really wanted to do beachballs/footballs/squirt guns of some sort for fun... but wasn't sure if guests would actually use them. So nice to know! : )

Ok - based on what I have read on this site (which is a LOT :) Here's what I am putting in our bags:

Sunscreen - I think the little tubes will be easy to carry around

Aloe Gel - found travel sizes on AllTravelSizes.com

Lip Balm w/sunscreen - Avon (on sale!)

Stadium Cups w/logo - can't afford mugs/no room to pack mugs

Cocktail Mix Packets - personalized, will be good for in-room liquor dispensers at our AI

Decks of Cards w/logo

Spanish for Dummies - pocket edition

Welcome brochure (still need to create this...better get going :)

For budget reasons - I am using gift bags that I will attach a cute tag to with our logo/welcome note. I for some reason am not a fan of canvas bags (unless they are big enough to carry my groceries - which would be too big for what we are putting in them)- and couldn't find anything else that I liked.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
